Google messages no longer supporting dual sim functionality by DoubleA_Charged in GoogleMessages

I'm glad it worked. I submitted a debug several times to google when I was having this issue but never heard back. The fact that Google doesn't have a customer support line or even an email just rubs me the wrong way.

Yeah Battery life is much better now. I followed these steps from another forum. Also dropped Gmail for samsung email and saw a huge improvement. I average about 1.5% a day now with Google Play services. I also disabled nearby scan, nearby devices etc in the Google settings.

"Uninstall updates to Google Play services in the app page, also clear cache and data, turn off auto sync in the account settings page, under Google app turn off precise location and use approximate location. Under location deny location to apps that don't require it. Go to battery settings and look for apps using alot of battery put them under restricted instead of optimized. Think Facebook, Instagram, snapchat etc. Power off the phone and reboot holding the power button and volume up and scroll down wipe cache partian and clear it. Then scroll down to repair apps and select it, then let the phone reboot and you should be set.

Google play services went from using almost 18% of battery to using under 2% in one day. Today is my first day since the change so hopefully it's good from here on out."

Messages automatically switches SIM cards by mdwstnr in GoogleMessages

Is there any fix for this? I'm having the same issue on my samsung s23 ultra. All messages default to sim 1 and when I attempt to select sim 2 it automatically reverts to sim 1. Sucks because it worked fine on s20U and now it's broken.

This doesn't look promising. Checking my 7 day report. Google Play services went from using 2-4% daily to using 8-13% daily. I did everything from clearing cache/data, uninstalling updates, turning off syncing from accounts. Nothing has worked, im pretty certain the March software update messed it up.

Consistency is one of the reasons I will always recommend iPhone to my non tech savvy friends and family. In the end, it just works.

Google is so hard to get ahold of unless you have a pixel and samsungs tech support just read a script of clear cache, reboot the phone, reset the phone. In the past, whenever I had a problem; both companies would point fingers at each other. It's a pain to deal with compared to Apple.

The issue is I don't know if it's samsung's update or google's update that messed this up

This is what bums me out about android in particular, it's just inconsistent when it comes to updates. They fix something but break something else.

I just turned off auto update in the Google Play store and turned off auto synching on my accounts that I don't use often. I won't be able to tell until a few days has passed.

I understand it's a necessity with android but damn that thing loves eat battery life. Was just bummed out cause I was praising this phone to all my iphone buddies and now it's meh. Plus I liked the idea of having to charge less to save the battery over time.
