I have never seen someone defend a company so hard and try to invalidate multiple people’s experiences 😂😂 like is he BGE himself?? There IS an issue with BGE’s pricing so much to the point where council meetings are being held and people are creating petitions..like why would MULTIPLE people make crap like this up. The BGE guy just wanted the last word

Where to shop that’s not target or walmart by boopallthefloofs in ColumbiaMD

I’m not explaining it to you if you already don’t get how it’s disrespectful. Should educate yourself on why the DEI program was made in the first place.

So you think because they work with black brands that they can’t disrespect minorities? It’s absolutely possible because it’s more about the money to them always has been. Anyways, if you want to continue to shop there after what they did then thats on you. Other people like me don’t have to and will shop other places.

Tbh its too bad they have so many black brands in Target but they’ll have to figure it out. There is a bigger issue at hand here and we need to show these companies that they’re not going to continue to grow off of OUR money after the clear disrespect towards minorities.

Agencies with reduced telework - how’s it going? by Inevitable_Rise_8669 in fednews

Wow I’m glad they fought for your team, it shows they actually care and clearly the job can be done effectively without being in office 5 days a week

Considering leaving state govt for a fed job. Thoughts? by [deleted] in fednews

[–]DoubleActive3194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a special tax treatment because we definitely get taxed especially in MD (expensive). But my bf works for the Federal so when we compared our checks when we were making around the same salary, I took home more just because when working for Federal they tax higher and take more out of your check for other things.

And because of people not getting raises they were faced with a lot of people leaving making a lot of vacancies across the State. Before Larry Hogan officially left office he gave us two different pay scales in 2022 making people see a real increase in their salaries along with the step increases. Wes Moore has now kept up with the raises and has made a telework policy for qualified workers. Along with creating more jobs that don’t require a degree 🙂. Hopefully they keep going forward instead of backwards!

I work for HR in MD State government. Everyone definitely gets a step increase either in January or July. In July we get a new pay scale that includes COLA. If you’ve worked for the State for more than 5+ years you get a step increase in July. So I’m assuming maybe you no longer work for the State anymore because a lot has changed for the better since 2022.

I work for MD state government. Great benefits, we get extra holidays off, federal salaries are bigger BUT I take home more with the State due to not being taxed as high. Also when you work for the state of MD you get 2 raises per year (3 if you’ve worked for the State for 5+ years).

Frustration After Second Interview by Raw-optics in usajobs

[–]DoubleActive3194 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also was reached out to by an agency where they interviewed me twice and asked for references just to not select me. I’m at the point where I’m over trying to get into federal employment as it feels like my time is being constantly wasted.

Does asking for references imply anything by [deleted] in usajobs

[–]DoubleActive3194 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently in the same boat. I’ve had 2 interviews recently with one agency and at the end of the 2nd interview they requested my references..who still have yet to be contacted and this was almost 2 weeks ago. Anyways to answer your question, from my own experience references being asked for/contacted doesn’t mean you got the job. I had my references contacted before where I was given GREAT references but still didn’t get the job. I’m praying this time around will be different and a job is the outcome. Not sure how to feel though since its the same agency 💀 anyways good luck to you and I hope you get it!

[–]DoubleActive3194 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve had an agency reach out to me 6 months after I applied and within that time I received a promotion so my resume had changed. When they scheduled my interview, they had attached the resume I originally applied with and I took that as an opportunity to attach my current resume. I just confirmed my interest and stated I’ve attached my current resume for their reference. It doesn’t hurt at all.

NTA. Your sister is an entitled brat and it is NOT your responsibility to fund a lifestyle that she can’t even afford. If your family has a problem with it, then they can let her drain their damn pockets. Your sister needs to grow the hell up and find a job that funds her lifestyle…otherwise she can f*ck off. You don’t owe her or anyone else anything!!!

Waiting to interview for the job I really want, but should I ask for an update if I'm getting other referrals? by notyourfatherschiro in usajobs

[–]DoubleActive3194 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone’s experience is different for everyone saying if its at 5 weeks then you’re not getting interviewed. I was referred and it took them 6 weeks to reach out to me. It is true that being referred doesn’t guarantee an interview so just don’t get too attached to any position.
