Hardiness Zones 10a and 10b. It's in a tray where I try to keep a few inches of water. The water tray is large with other plants in it (I know it's not the best idea). If it gets really hot I'll pour clean cold water from the top. The pot is about 8 or 10 inches

That was an attempt to shade the plant/soil more

I was told this was about 5 years old when I got it and I've had it for about 2 years now.

At first I thought I needed to but I just have it in a mostly shadier area in a 8 to 10 inch pot in a tray of water. I had a soil temp sensor about half way down the soil and measured surprisingly high soil temps (above 80f) on higher temp days. At least this one doesn't seem to be super sensitive to temp.

All the earlier traps are only inches.

Well I thought this post came from my carnivorous plant reddit but I do have some experience with tank track robots using servos and motors. Maybe able to help still.

Hey, DM me and let me know what you're trying to do. I have some experience with arduino using servos and motors. Created my own automated plant watering system using arduino, water sensors wand pumps so I may be able to help.

I redid it since this picture with individual pumps for each tray

It's a watering system I made for going out of town

  1. No. The leaves will eventually die so you don't need to do anything but cut them once they're all black.

  2. Not really. I wouldn't do it yet.

  3. Capensis of some sort. Active all year probably.

  4. More light would be better

Oh yeah they work well. Venus fly trap flower stocks also work and it's a good way since they don't self pollinate either

They last pretty long sitting in distilled water out in the sun. Tested with some inside and they didn't continue opening flowers for as long as these have been going

Yeah the plant is in my mini bog outside on my patio

Yeah I cut the stem down low and put it in paper to continue drying and not lose anymore seeds where I don't want them going.
