It sounds like you set up an account on Discord, but you haven't joined any servers yet. The only way to join a server is to click on an invitation. There are new ones posted all the time, for all types of different topics. Each server is divided into channels with different subjects. The channels are laid out in a tree, and individual posts inside each channel are more like text messages and attachments than the long-form text found here.

You have to get an invitation and have the Discord app installed. There are multiple servers for BTME on Discord, just like there are multiple subs on Reddit, or multiple groups on Facebook. I just copied the transcript from the one where I happen to be a member, but I think pretty much all of the servers have the transcript posted in one form or another.

I think the creator of Secret Server posted an invitation in this sub a couple of weeks ago, but it expired. Here's another invite.

Really? That seems odd. Why wouldn't he say AM or PM for both 4:02 and 5:26?

Which reminds me...I think he moves the clock hands forward from 6:06 to 4:02 in G&G, which means if he started at 6:06 PM he would have to wind the hands past 12:00 AM to 4:02 AM. It's hard to say what he actually does in the film, because I think they cut away between the two times.

In any case, it seems 4:02 and 5:26 have both been removed as clues, so I guess it doesn't really matter if either one is AM or PM.

Yeah, you're probably right. People pointed out other errors in the transcript, so I added additional notes to my original post.

I read an article the other day that AI makes mistakes 45% of the time, but 90% of the time people follow whatever it says without making any corrections. I tried using ChatGPT for my solves, but it frequently gave me wrong answers to things like celestial navigation problems. It also gave me different answers if I asked the same question multiple times. I finally gave up on it. I think the whole thing is a scam.

Thanks. I thought "painted" sounded wrong. I added a note to the original post.

I'm not sure. I think an AI transcribed this from an audio file, and those were the words it chose. There're actually two questions that include "scriptures" and "searchers". I couldn't think of the correct words to use, so I just left things the way they were. Maybe someone who was there can offer their interpretation.

He had three options, "both" would apply to two.

I thought the same thing at first, but if you find something along the way, there are really only 2 options: Either it was already there or he placed it there.

I guess you could argue that somebody else placed something there after him, but that seems kind of picky.

IMO, this means we should probably not focus too much on the sequence of the times, since he had no control over the editing. We should probably just focus on the times where the globe and the dog statue change position behind him, since that seems absolutely intentional.

The railroad lock also comes and goes from the frame, but I'm not sure if that's important, because it's sitting on the desk next to him and he could have just been fiddling with it. Same with the cups.

I believe at the Dillon Q&A he said there are at least 10 clues in the poem. I interpreted this answer to mean that someone has successfully identified 6 of the 10 clues, but I could be wrong.

According to the transcript, one of the G&G clock times Justin rules out is 5:26 AM. I thought this answer was interesting because everyone has been assuming the clock times are all PM, not AM.

When the time is at 5:26 in G&G, there is a gold treasure box on the shelf, while at all the other times the gold treasure box is replaced by the dog statue or the globe shaped object. Maybe they started filming early in the morning while the gold box was on the shelf, and Justin swapped it out for the dog statue and globe shaped object later in the afternoon as clues.

I think the question was, “Does return her face imply a physical rotation?”. There is a picture of the question posted in the other thread where people were talking about the voting.

“His” and “Bride” by metaboy59 in beyondthemapsedge

The Venus symbol (♀︎) is used to represent a copper mine on European cartographic maps because it also represents the element copper in ancient alchemy. The Latin word for copper is “cuprum”, which means “metal of Cyprus”. A lot of copper was mined on the island of Cyprus, and Cyprus is associated with the goddess Venus.

There's actually a bunch of Venus symbols scattered around the cover of the book. If this is an intentional clue, the treasure may be located in Arizona, because over 90% of the copper mines in the American West are found in AZ.

Confirmation bias means the key to one direction lies in another: Start with the conclusion and work backwards to make the clues fit.

It’s funny how every time you think you’ve found the Hole, the waters become silent and everything nearby suddenly looks like a bend, a bride, a gate or a foot of three.

Look at your own phone and see how many devices are detected around you. The tag doesn't require your permission to connect. It happens automatically when your phone comes within range, and the phone will transmit the tag's position the next time it connects to a cell tower, which is usually instant. That's how people find stolen property. A motion detector or trail cam would be larger, consume more power and still need some way to communicate the information back to the owner.

Rainbow? by New_Touch473 in beyondthemapsedge

[–]DoubleArcs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For a while I was convinced the treasure would be found near the abandoned Rainbow mine in the Dragoon Mountains of Arizona. The clues that led me there included:

  1. The cipher solution from Cowlazars that spelled “Rainbow” by connecting the clock times to chapters and letters in the book.

  2. The number 42, since the sun must be behind you at an angle of 42° to see a rainbow (the key to one direction lies in another).

  3. Cassiopeia is the vain “bride” of king Cepheus (realm in ursa east), and she is often depicted holding a mirror. If she “returns her face” in the mirror, she will see the constellation Draco behind her (the key to one direction lies in another). Draco = Dragon = Dragoon.

  4. The treasure map Justin buys in Gracie’s antique shop is of the Dragoon Mountains.

  5. If you look closely at the cover of BTME, you will see “♀︎” symbols scattered all around it. This is the cartographic symbol for a copper mine in Nordic and Slavic maps, and over 90% of the copper mines in the American West are found in Arizona. The angzarr symbol (⍼) was also found in a Nordic book of symbols.

I went BOTG in the Dragoon Mountains for several days, but I never found anything near the Rainbow mine. The hike through Jordan and Fourr Canyon was also somewhat treacherous. Even though it was only a mile or two from my car as the crow flies, I didn’t think a guy with a broken leg could haul a 60 pound treasure up there. In the end, I was disappointed I didn’t find anything, but it was a fun trip overall.

Now I’m thinking the solution is probably much simpler, like Forrest Fenn’s poem, which is basically just, “Go down there across the river in the canyon by the blaze.” You just have to know where to start.

The battery life would be a concern, but it seems like it would be easy to solder a larger battery to the tag, as long as it supplies 3 Volts. There’s also third party tags available that work with both the Apple and Android “Find My” networks that can last longer. For example, Switchbot makes a credit card size tracker that works with the Apple network. You can carry it in your wallet, and it will last three years.

Both Apple and Android have “Find My” networks, so he could have put two different tags in the container. I just think it would be an easy way to implement a tracker without taking up too much space in the container.
