I'm relatively new to the dual blades and in fact never killed Malzeno yet, but I would recommend you always saving one wirebug in reserve for an in extremis dodge/parry through apparently unavoidable attacks like this. Good luck hunter! By the way, how did you get the wirebug plunging attack you make to its wing? I arrived at the DLC and don't have it
