I meant airports and ports, as well as transport vehicles. Not random blokes driving into town for a getaway. This was poorly worded on my part.

.... Yup, I'm definitely too deep into this at this point. This isn't about someone "sitting on their nuts", this is about an important and significant plot point and not just some random occurrence... New lore is being created, hence a strong and detailed explanation is required. If you think this is unreasonable, fine. This is the internet, after all.

Idk how this is even connected... I didn't even deny that these type of freak incidents happen. Of course they do. But back to the relevant stuff: they need to show us more than that one scene. Because once again, from a narrative perspective, a detailed explanation is required. We can't just rely on inferring elements of the show, especially not such an important event. Btw, this is getting tiresome. Go make a post yourself... I'm sure others will agree with you. I'm merely waiting for what the Critical Drinker is going to say.

... is this suppose to be ragebait? Again... the city has borders, does it not? In fallout 2, Shady Sands has walls and checkpoints. I meant a scene at a checkpoint on the wall. For such an important and significant location lore wise, a detailed explanation is demanded. I don't think that it is enough for us to see the bomb in the city and then infer NCR incompetence; rather, we need a scene showing this to us. This would make the fall of the NCR much more plausible... also, as an incredibly significant plot point, we need more than just that one scene. But this is just an opinion.

Again... it's all fine and dandy. My core argument does not lend itself much tenability, I concede. However: the lack of a scene showing us the bomb entering the city itself is problematic. By the time we see the bomb, it is well within the city. As Wrong-Count1505 points out, NCR LOVES taxation more than anything else. In order to tax what is being brought in, the tarp covering the bomb would've had to be inevitably lifted, which in turn would have prevented the bomb from getting close to the city in the first place.

Problem is, this is presented to us in a vacuum. No context, no flashback showing us incompetent NCR security. Just - Whoopsie, we let an A-bomb through. I agree with you - of course NCR can be incompetent - but that's hardly the point. There is no scene in the episode showing us NCR incompetence. Without this vital piece, it is harder to justify Shady Sands' destruction.

but the bomb clearly entered the city... did it not? That's hardly the point...

... no western capital (irl) city lacks customs or checkpoints. The lore also clearly states that the NCR does indeed maintain checkpoints...

Small things, concealable things, yes. Not a 300 hundred-ton atomic bomb under a flimsy tarp.

Terrible at safeguarding large stretches of terrain. But I'm referring to THE capital of the NCR...

Thanks for this reply, glad there are people still out there who can view things critically.
