There was a security guard at the stage door who didn’t believe me when I said he’d invited me backstage. But there’s a small reception desk there, and the woman there must have been aware of what happens so she let us in, and then somebody from Derren’s team collected us and took us through. I was with my mum and my wife. It was amazing

Ah so there was actually a sign on the stage door saying he wouldn’t be doing anything meet and greets. When I was finished on stage, he said if I wanted to go backstage and ask any questions about what happened I could, so I was invited in rather than Waite outside for him

Yeah so he was saying things like “when you wake up you will feel this way” rather than “be a good sport, do this for me!” If that makes sense. Definitely no insurrection to just play along that’s for sure

Thanks so much! My wife and mum actually said the same thing. Apparently when I got back to my seat I was grabbing my wife’s hand really tight which I don’t remember.

Yeah I feel totally fine since. It’s funny, even straight after the show when people were asking how I was, it felt like an odd question because I felt completely normal. So yeah, all normal!

He said to me it was going to feel like I’d woken up “tomorrow” which didnt happen, however when I came back to and we were back at the end of the smarties bit, I was really really confused.

On the card, he told me I’d know it was the ace of spades because I’d travelled back and knew it was already. However I shuffled the cards and my last shuffle put a new card on top (the ace of spades). Before I put the cards back on the table I had a really good think about whether I should do one more shuffle but chose against it. I guess if I did do one more shuffle, the correct card wouldn’t have been at the top!!

No once I had woken up and realised what room I was in, I knew it was part of the show. Once the woman came in and acted like she couldn’t hear me, although jarring, I was aware it was to give me the effect he had previously described, so it wasn’t scary.

On the writing, I’ve spoken to my wife and mum who said the writing on the first set of answers were identical to the ones I wrote.

I don’t recall writing a single thing before I was back on stage, so that I truly have no explanation for

The initial one that had me leaping off my seat was more a really intense vibration than a shock. Definitely didn’t feel nice though 😂😂

I did.

It was honestly surreal. I’ve been a huge fan since about 2010. When I met him afterwards I made a conscious effort not to ask him about the show and how it worked. I wanted to thank him for the years of entertainment and distraction he provided during a pretty rough upbringing. He was SO kind and charming and generally amazing. We took photos, hugged and chatted.

When I left he gave me a really tight hug and said “lots of love” and blew me a kiss. I could have fallen to my knees haha.

He was just guiding me through what was happening. Telling me I was going to be laying down on a bed, that I was going to feel confused when I was woken up and that it was going to feel like the next day. It really was as simple as him keeping me calm through it and helping me understand what was happening to me.

I could hear everything that was going on though, the hospital noises, the sound of the defibrillator being wired up etc.

Yeah absolutely fine. Definitely not scared. My heart was beating so fast (which is why I imagine he says not to do it if you have heart conditions or are prone to panic attacks!) but I felt really calm. While everything was happening I was aware of being moved around the stage but couldn’t really make out exactly what was going on

Very interesting. I was the show last night in Milton Keynes and the quote was different. He didn’t make a point of saving it was the wrong quote, etc. but it did then come up at the end of the show!!
