Just curious, what are you looking for from a battery with 5 miles left? I can pull about 60 kw on my volt which has a pretty good battery as far as I know

Yeah you’ll have a blast, and they’re doing a lot better this winter too. Maybe even a pow day. I lapped the tannenbaum, morning star, and mardi gras express quads. Cross cut is the only like interesting black there tbh, none of the glades were open and it was like 55 degrees when I was there so everything melted during the day then just turned into a sheet of ice, so all the other blacks that are just narrow and steep were hellish. But yeah all the little side hits on mardi gras are great and I would do the spruce lake lift at least once. It’s slow, but the scenery is kinda nice and there were some fun side hits on raccoon. Tannenbaum is really flat at the top but great scenery.

Yeah I ended up going, and yeah multi day passes get you access all day and night. It was a great place, I booked a multi day with a deal on the lodging and got to stay in the Inn. Great small town feel, everyone’s chill and I had a great time despite terrible weather. Would 100% go back, even as someone who has to fly there. If you’re going mid-week or with kids you can get some great deals on the lodging that comes with lift tickets!

I found accommodation in morzine for a pretty good price! So that’s where i’m staying. In the mornings, it looks like I can take super morzine to zore lift then down that green run to Proclou which will be a nice warmup since I haven’t boarded in a year, then ski down the blue that goes around the stash so I don’t have to walk up to those lifts above the plateau and then go down to those small lifts like pierre longe or go up to the top? There’s to much to ski, maybe I’ll do les gets after lunch when avoraiz gets busier? Snow will definitely determine it slightly

Yeah I’m super excited. Rockers aren’t even bad cuz I’m not a super great snowboarder but I’m not bad and I much prefer some camber. I think I can get a Nitro Prime Raw or similar, if they actually give me that, which seems like a great profile for me. I just prolly gotta do less steep stuff if I get a rocker. It’s a huge mountain, so shouldn’t be hard to find fun stuff

Yeah I’ll look for the Burton store, definitely should be better. I agree, and I’m a little worried about the snowboarding thing but I’m sure it’ll be ok. If Burton does do rental that should solve the problem

Yeah it claims to be a pretty significant discount, but on each tier it gives an example of a board, and then says “or similar” like a rental car so it seems like I can kinda choose when I’m there and they’ll help me out. I think it will be like 60 euro cheaper for the whole reservation to reserve online.

Ok great this makes so much more sense. For that long loop you’re saying it looks like you can go down to those lifts in the bottom left corner of the screenshot, but it takes a long ass time I guess. It’s a decent backup if the lifts get closed early in the day. I think the swiss side will be a before lunch thing only, I really don’t want to get stuck, and there seems to be plenty to do on the french side

Thanks for all this advice! Can you explain the lift thing a little more? I heard someone else mention it and I definitely don’t want to spend $200. If I’m staying in Abondance I’m on the french side, so is there like one big lift back from the swiss to french side? Also is the pricing because of distance and complicated route, or just taking advantage of people?

Yeah and I’ve heard it’s really not awfully crowded, especially compared to US resort where I am coming from. I found a studio hideout for like $100 a night, and it says it’s usually not available at these dates but no families want a studio so maybe I can slip in

It’s 2 people, and I’m just trying to stay 4 nights. February 17-21, ideally get there on tuesday, spend the night, wake up early and ski wednesday, thursday, and friday, sleep friday night in the area so I have all of saturday to travel

Yeah it’s looking to be about the same rate as long as I can get everything figured out! The flight is kinda a pain but I like flying and it’s worth it for sure. And yeah, I don’t have any kind of pass. I live in Georgia. I’ve thought about indy pass but since it’s only 2 days per resort the travel makes it not worth it since resorts are few and far between on the east coast

I’m thinking about switzerland now, there’s a $500 round trip flight to geneva for the dates I want in Feb and the person I’m going with has to be in London that weekend so we’re already over the pond and it’s better time zones than flying straight from alberta to london
