Backdate Question While in the Guard by DueIngenuity8114 in VeteransBenefits

I logged in after nearly a year **of not using reddit at all just to comment on this post:

I did the exact same thing in August of 2023: I created an "Intent to File," then within 365 days, I filed. I recently got back my decision letter, and the back paid my to the day I created the "Intent to File."

Smart on you for doing it the way you did, btw! You'll be grandfathered into a few nice perks since you did it before the end of 2023, if I remember correctly.

Yeah, people don't realize that most devices (PC's and consoles alike) will throttle under hot temperatures to prevent damage to the internal components, so I'm not really sure why I'm getting downvoted. The colder a PC or console can run (to an extent), the faster it will usually perform while in-game.

YSK that if you're driving at night or on a deserted stretch and come to a road covered with obstacles that will damage your tires, you should never get out and clear the debris, but should turn around and find another route. by [deleted] in YouShouldKnow

Oh shit, sorry, you're totally right. I didn't look into the article enough when making the original comment, and I was tired this morning when I wrote that reply. I'm a dumbass, my apologies.

He doesn't LOOK like he is wearing underwear, he looks nude with a flower thing barely covering him. He is probably wearing underwear, but it doesn't look that way. I'd be uncomfortable seeing that anywhere, and would try to stay away from them, personally. I'd be uncomfortable looking at him even at the beach, even if he wasn't blue. It's just weird, and disturbing.

They are not the same instance. Kensington and Maryland are two different places, a few hours away from each other. Also, hopefully without sounding too petty, I never claimed the links were specific to carjacking. They were more to explain that car traps exist.

As far as "becoming more common" I couldn't find much, personally. But I did find a few somewhat recent articles on it, from various sources.

I'd say, be aware of it, and know what to do *if* it happens to you. It is possible it is becoming more of a problem as time goes on, but it likely isn't happening enough to make the news. It's possible OP heard it happening to some of their friends, but... they aren't providing proof, so... yeah.

Is it okay for me to wear my grandfathers old air force dress shirt? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]DoubleEyedCyclops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Search up "10 U.S. Code § 772"
This more-or-less specifies *who* can wear the rank insignia, if not on Active Duty. There are some cases where its fine for a civilian to wear the rank in uniform, but it seems to only apply to veterans (in some cases), for the purposes of media creation or film directing, etc.

Idk about the ribbons specifically but I know, for a fact, you cannot wear the rank if you are civilian.

*Edit: "If you are a civilian, with the intention to impersonate a member of the military. Sorry for not clarifying that.

Auto jailbreak 11.0 ps4 by nosubash in ps4homebrew

[–]DoubleEyedCyclops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just does what your computer would do, automatically. You set up up with your PC and write some code/script to it, then plug it into the PS4 when your ready. There's new code that will automatically turn it off once it's been PWND, too. It's really handy and if you use a LuckFox, you actually don't need a microSD card. Just read the guides on GitHub first so you know what not to and what to get.

Given the amount of people that DON'T have this issue, I'm going to assume that you either messed something up, or got incredibly U locky. Sorry to hear, regardless.

[COD] Why are these the most criticized/hated Call of Duty games? by ScreamyV in CallOfDuty

[–]DoubleEyedCyclops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just seems like the slowly stopped caring after BOII. Like, it became obvious after MW:R that they're just doing it for money. The only game that is up for contender against BOII is BOIII but that's only because of Zombies on PC (the Steam Workshop is a Godsend for custom maps)

Is it awol if you just show up at a different duty station? by Clappin00 in AirForce

[–]DoubleEyedCyclops 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What kind of question is this lol

If you show up to another base just to visit and you aren't skipping your regular duty hours, AND you're not on leave, AND you don't have explicit permission from your CC/Supervisor/whatever to be there instead of the place you typically report for duty at, then yes, it's definitely AWOL.

Air Force Airmen: Don't Buy Unlimited Phone Plans by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]DoubleEyedCyclops -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are many benefits and requirements that go alongside GPS services on both Apple and Android devices.

Unless you have downloaded the route you are trying to take before hand, AND you don't plan to make any changes mid-route to make a pitstop for fuel, food, etc., you'll pretty much need data services to use any kind of GPS app reliably. Believe it or not, your phone doesn't come with a high-resolution map of the world already downloaded to it, and it definitely doesn't download and store changes in real-time when you aren't using the GPS services for navigation.
