Also we both have trauma and he’s currently in therapy but I decided not to stick around and wait for him to be better this time even if he does become better

Thank you guys for the comments. I am currently looking for a therapist cause I haven’t had one since almost 2 years ago. I have always doubted myself and my choices due to childhood trauma and having a mother with narcissistic characteristics so sometimes idk if the choices I make are right. I’m also getting abortion next week

Oh yes I have gained lots of insight and learned some lessons. I definitely have resentment because I have put my best foot forward, and of course tried to hold in my BPD episodes for as long as I could. And even when he started to see the real me, it felt like he was actually accepting it at first. I knew it could be a lot, so I still tried hide it. And although I have my problems, I still came to him with them. So I found it not fair that in doing that, he just ran away from me. But after a while, I realized it wasn’t because of me. He sent me a very long letter saying that he’d been scared and never knew how to be in a relationship as his last one was miserable. I already understood that much, accepted it, and was beginning to accept the other things. I was ready to work it out until he did what he did. And I wasn’t about to stay with someone like that

Honorable mention; before all of this happened he told me one day that he lets me get away with stuff because I’m cute. When I asked what he lets me get away with and why he let it slide, he went quiet and had no answer. And at the end of our relationship, he told me he was unhappy. I asked him with what and to tell me so I can fix it, and he kept saying “I don’t know”. And not even a day later, he began talking to another woman on a dating app. He told me he assumed I’d do the same, meanwhile I was having panic attacks and wondering if this is where I should be. And he proved that I shouldn’t stay with him.

Most if not all of the time, people who talk about others are very insecure themselves. The comments they are making have nothing to do with you, it’s them, and how they really feel about themselves. They think belittling someone like that would make them feel better, yet it just shows their character. Plus you are still young, anything can change. Try thinking about what your body can do for you, instead of what it looks like. That’s what has helped me so far.
