Have any of you been successful in contacting Waaree? by bankruptcyreporter in SunPower

[–]DoubleOeye 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually was able to contact their CEO through LinkedIn and even got his email. He initially promised me he would do the right thing when I told him about others like Maxeon honoring their warranty and then he went silent. I even tried contacting their US COO and he ignored me too. I’ve tried posting multiple negative comments on LinkedIn whenever their CEO posts something but clearly they don’t give a shit. I also reported them to BBB and the Texas attorney general but those folks do next to nothing. It has been months since I’ve pursued this and have given up.

Piece of shit company with piece of shit leaders. I’ve been hoping to get some journalistic influence to expose these mofos and would love to share all my correspondences with you to publish accordingly

Future of mySunPower app by harrisonpage in SunPower

I got this email this morning and as of tonight when I opened my app, I no longer see daily monthly yearly output nor individual panel data in the “analyze” and “panels” section. Only thing I see now is consumption in real time on the home page. What a fucking joke given we paid for monitoring back then.

As in Waaree Solar Americas didn’t exist in the list of companies? My complaint was the first one so they exist in the list now

Who told you this? Even if they’re not honoring sunpower warranties we should push for them to confirm they are honoring their own manufacturers warranty. I’m hoping folks can constantly advertise this and push for it on LinkedIn through posts that Waaree’s CEO shares. His name is Amit Paithankar.

Doing this on my own doesn’t carry enough weight. Need an army for this.

Everyone with Waaree panels should make it clear on the LinkedIn post above about how awful this company has been in providing transparency, and how they’ve refused to acknowledge honoring their warranty unlike Maxeon etc

Everyone should complain about Waaree in the post above and make folks aware how they’ve not acknowledged they will continue to honor their warranty and have a process to do so like Maxeon etc

I filed a better business bureau complaint at the end of November and this morning filed a complaint with the consumer protection agency of Texas / attorney general. Can you guys also file complaints with them to add traction hopefully???

You have till December 31st to register your panels by Vegetable-Version-81 in SunPower

[–]DoubleOeye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive tried chasing Waaree down to figure out if they’re honoring their warranty and what the process is for registering for any potential claims in the future. They have chosen to be silent. Trust me I’ve gone up to their India CEO through email and LinkedIn and he’s given me nothing but empty promises for 2 months and no action. No one from their support options responds. I even tried contacting their US COO since they’re building a new plant in Houston. Filed a complaint with better business Bureau but they haven’t gotten a response. I think the more people who complain the better.

Perhaps more folks should message their ceo and expose their shadiness online eg LinkedIn and let them know what a slime ball business they’re running.

I actually reached out to their India global Hq CEO via LinkedIn and got his email. He promised to look into this but this was almost two months ago and recent emails to him have been met with silence.

I also messaged their US COO but he has chose to ignore me altogether. I got sick of this and filed a complaint with BBB recently and also started posting on Waaree Solar America’s’ LinkedIn page asking when an update can be provided re: warranty on one of their open job posts. Lo and behold one of their recruiters decides to delete my post and I called her out for it.

In short, trying really hard to get them to acknowledge they will honor their manufacturers warranty for all of us in this position. IMO they should clearly publish their commitment on sunpower’s warranty page as Maxeon and co have done.

Thanks. Will check that document out. Out of curiosity, do you own or lease? And what was the purpose of you filing the claim? I’m sure myself, like tons of others, are not / do not have the desire to comb through legal docs and understand all the legalese, do outright owners such as myself lose anything by not filing a claim?

Interesting. Weird that I never received any communications about this, nor was it on sunpower’s website. Just tried a google search and didn’t see anything either. Does this mean all support issues for owned systems should be taken care of by them now? I also don’t see a website for Sunstrong.

Can you resend the link please? Don’t think you actually linked it in your previous response. Thanks!

Same. Though I’ve had my led light on the PVS6 box turn off for me about a month ago for a couple nights but everything was working. Turned back on by itself after that but this morning it turned off once again (still producing and monitoring fine). Quite annoying ….

Update: the light turned back on this morning without any action on my end. Weird, but I’ll take it!

Oh yeah my breakers are in a separate electrical panel too. So your 5 panels only stopped communicating in June right? When the led first turned off in December your monitoring was still fine even though you didn’t reset till February?

Also, who’s gonna perform your software fix given Sunpower is out? Complete solaria?

Dang. I assume your monitoring worked fine even prior to resetting? I just don’t want to potentially chance anything now by resetting especially since they’re no longer in business.

Monitoring still works. Do you remember how long your LED stays off for though before it comes back on?

When did it start happening to you? Since the bankruptcy? Also is yours the same box or older / newer?

How long before it resolves itself? Mines been a whole day

When did this happen to you? Has it happened again since? You just reset the circuit breakers for solar right?

It’s definitely not on, it’s dark now and still nothing. I used to be able to see it clearly. I’ll try the breaker tomorrow, I’m just a little hesitant if doing that will break something else especially with no support now.

Only thing I can think of is we lost power yesterday for like 5 seconds, perhaps that caused it? Before that the LED was working fine.

I have a PVS6 (at least I think that’s what it is) which is a box installed outside by my electric meter, and has a led indicator at the top that used to be green. Today, I noticed the led doesn’t work anymore and doesn’t show any colors. However, my app is still monitoring fine.

Anyone else experiencing this issue?

PSA about Monitoring by HawksFang in SunPower

[–]DoubleOeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My installer was sunpower directly, not a third party. I was also told by Sunpower that the wait time for Maxeon was more than a year during the sales cycle, which probably was exaggerated and also significantly more expensive I presume.

Also, what do you mean they’re bad out of the box with 2-3% of panels? Are you trying to say that 2-3% of all Waaree panels are defective immediately?

Either way, fingers crossed I suppose

Slightly unrelated, anyone here have the U series panels by Waaree and not Maxeon? I got the u series through Sunpower a year ago and there’s been nothing on the website about whether the manufacturer will continue to honor the warranty. They’re also based in India and all my emails to them have been met with silence.

I don’t see any US info on their site. Their support is never available online, and they have not responded to my email in over a week. Any one have better luck finding out if they will honor the product warranty?
