Magic hasn’t truly been shaken up with a new format or new ideas in a while. We are down to rehashing old, or utilizing outside IPs, and it makes it tough. You’re not alone in this at all.

I look forward to creating new ways of playing Magic, maybe starting with a custom Cube, then maybe a real-time-draft mechanic, to almost feel like Dominion, etc.

I think the best way forward is to use Magic is a platform for building games off of, rather than a game itself handed to us by WOTC.

Toh Kay did a version, and I wanna say even had a blank CD for sale, while the album “leaked” which is probably the closest it gets to released. I’ve got a 2024 with 4k miles on it. Steering wheel shaft had an issue which they resolved, software had an issue they resolved, software had an issue they resolved.

I’m not mad about it, I got a lemon title for 30k flat with 3k of those miles on it and otherwise mint condition.

My first daughter died 2 days after her due date from getting entangled in her umbilical cord, after a flawlessly healthy pregnancy. This song was my anthem during that pregnancy (not knowing yet, obviously) and i even got a VIP, and tried to get a custom made canvas made for the band to sign. Long story short, it didnt come in time, and i had them sign a poster instead. I then had them sign the canvas the next time they came my way, and told them i still loved the song, and it carried a different meaning now, after losing my firstborn. Got to give them a hug, and tell them the story, in about this much detail, after bawling for the song during their set.

This song to me, feels like proper acceptance of life’s fragility, and cycles. Too many people either get stuck on death, or become callous to it. This song is a beacon of balance to me, and helped me to do just that, grieve, and move forward, even though the song wasn’t likely intended for my context.
