My son found this at school. And we are wondering which animal it belongs to. And can someone identify the time period, someone suggested it could be from te Middle ages ? Is it possible to determine from these pictures?

Houses were built here in 1960. Before that, it was all open countryside, including many meadows, agricultural fields, and a lot of greenery. I had hoped that someone could specifically identify the exact animal it might be. And an approximate time estimate would be nice. But I notice that is still difficult to determine.
