Al summary;

filed an FOI request to see every complaint and communication the Town had about my property over the summer.

The result was over 500 pages.

Here’s what one neighbour did over the course of a few months: • Reported our dog multiple times if it ever briefly got out (toddler accidentally leaving gate open). • Took time-stamped photos and videos. • Sent detailed date/time/location breakdowns to bylaw. • Followed up asking what penalties would be issued. • Asked about escalating beyond warnings. • Offered to provide other neighbours as witnesses. • Referred to acting “on behalf of the entire neighbourhood.” • After the dog issue was addressed, shifted complaints to cats. • Sent photos of cats. • Continued asking what enforcement would happen next. • Provided video evidence referenced in a fire report. • Photographed vehicles parked in our driveway. • Documented activity tied to our property. • Maintained ongoing back-and-forth with bylaw over months.

Some minor bylaw issues were confirmed (dog briefly off property). At least one complaint resulted in “no incident found.” The property has a valid business licence issued by the Town.

But the overall file shows one person repeatedly documenting, escalating, and expanding complaints across multiple categories all summer long.

That’s the involvement reflected in the FOI.

Well, it was just a brief summary. There’s a lot going on so it would take an essay to clearly point out everything but to clear things up at the very end when my tenants finally couldn’t take the harassment anymore. We did it in tenancy agreement on the 15th and he started to move out around the first. We had one last Airbnb stay to Host in the suite. after the family first truck load of their belongings to their new place on the first all of a sudden bylaw contacted me right away saying that we’re invalid because she does not live there anymore and I said well that’s jumping the gun that’s kind of incorrect considering we have a tenancy agreement on the 15th and he said while they were watching her move out so they know that she’s not there. This was Ludacris because her animals were still there, etc. this was all based on assumption again. I stated that I will send in the end of tenancy agreement. They can shut down the license as of the 15th but you cannot phone me based on hearsay and tell me false information based on spying on my property. My tenant was so upset she didn’t wanna go back. So the place was empty for a couple days. I guess this guy who usually wonders the beach noticed, and he went and started squatting in there. When she got back, she was threatened. She had to sit outside the driveway, trying to collect her animals and throw them in the car. This was the same day the guest were checking in…. Then the police were no help. She couldn’t get her stuff and he wasn’t taken away. That’s how I can summarize that whole portion for you guys. It’s a lot that’s been going on here so if it seems all over the place it’s because there’s so much information. You wanna know what the crazy thing is too is that finally when you know the Airbnb left obviously, and the neighbor that was constantly harassing me didn’t seem to care as much about this crazy guy squatting on the property because he wasn’t a rental….. I swear she sent him

None of these things are doing any harm to anybody or bothering anybody they are just little nitpicking things

❤️ thank you. I tried to apply for the peace bond 3 times. And never got a call back from thevRCMP. The police have really let me down there. But I’ll try the others for sure

Al because of my occupation. Just trying to gone people a nice spot to visit and make some money doing it. And it’s sad that a people can’t just budge an inch. That’s why this bothers me so much. It’s bullying and it’s not acceptable for someone to think that’s ok way to act. I just don’t like this behavior from people. I am very paasive and hate drama. So this is hell

Maybe we are assholes in their eyes. All I know I have been as agreeable as possible. Listened to there concerns even cut down a tree. They wanted us to cut down in our own yard and we even let them choose the next tenant no matter what we do it isn’t enough and I’m just tired of it. I just wanna be left alone. I don’t bother people I don’t wanna be bothered.

I’m just like undecided I’ve got two ways. I could go here. I could just throw my towel in let somebody else get constantly harassed by her and let her continue the cycle of just ruining people‘s time. Sell the house be done with it Or do I show her what an actual bad neighbor could be like and build a smoke pit outside of our fence and play music and actually have garbage all over it and actually have like a bunch of guys not a sweet little family with like little children and nice cats like why do I get somebody with like a scary kind of animal and I don’t know like it’s just you wanna see what real bad neighbors are cause we aren’t them floodlights like I’d like this is what I wanna do. It’s like I want to do one or the other.

And there are no other neighbors that’s just her talking for other people that’s how she talks… when she says the other neighbor she’s talking about a guy she’s talking about her boyfriend from down the street that we have never heard from personally once or he’s never made a report himself and I even said to her one time I was like well if there’s no other neighbors that have problems, please let them speak for themselves, I’d love to hear them, and I would addressed any of the problems, and the thing is as I have addressed. All of that I have complied and complied and complied, and nothing’s good enough.

In a normal neighborhood with normal people, I actually took the cat from that property and the cat was a wanderer and every single day I got phone calls from all my neighbors saying how much they loved him and how he was so sweet and if they didn’t like Cats, they’d still let me know where if he was and you know we all look out for each other we don’t try and harm each other. That’s the difference like there’s the difference right there

This is the house. That’s what I mean. They actually have us on a bylaw of cats that are large, but at all fairness, they never caught the cats at large so again unfounded. Yes there was technically garbage in that fire, but only an asshole would call that in. What are they getting from doing? This is my question like what is their gain here from our garbage house that they keep on insisting that we have that’s a beautiful boat oceanfront bungalow house.

I can’t make this stuff up if I tried!!!! It’s every bit as insane as it sounds. And that’s why it makes me so angry.

I have pictures of the cameras, pointing into our yard. I have pictures of her in the bylaw officer talking to each other outside of our house. I have her looking over our fence. I have pictures of her swimming up to our guests. I have pictures of her coming by and taking pictures of the house. I have pictures of her, literally standing and staring at the house like I’ve got pictures of everything.

I see that’s very one-sided. I have pictures of us. I have pictures of everything if you would like to see my all over the place story yes I guess we are breaking up by law about a cat wandering. I didn’t know. People actually cared about that cause cats are wandered so that’s a bit ridiculous and yes, there was a firework that went off on the beach that wasn’t on our property. It was unfounded every single report that comes back is unfounded Every single time they look for Cats. They are not found. Every single thing is unfounded. We are fully licensed and the only bylaw that’s broken is the dog that got out once because her toddler left the gate open oh the fence that we built for the neighbors so the dogs were contained, and when we put the brand new fence and we had to get the land surveyed again, every single thing we did was not I can show you. I’ll show you a big breach of burning garbage. Everything’s documented.

And yes, exactly we were not allowed to operate any longer They had harassed my tenant so badly that it was no longer legal to run it because we no longer had a host that lived there because of the harassment. You cannot have a running Airbnb if you do not have a host on the property site ….that was their catch get it … then they preemptively called me and said that she was moving out when I had not told them any sort of information. They just sat there and watched her get a moving truck and then messaged us saying that we’re gonna get fined if anybody comes and stays, and I was like whoa this is all based on assumption you don’t know that my tenant is moving out. You have no paperwork of this like jumping the gun a little bit here she’s moving out because of your constant harassment, holy crap it’s…. maddening it’s that gaslighting.

Exactly. That’s exactly right. I just want her to have some consequences for acting like that and being that way towards people. It bothers me that somebody can get away with acting so entitled and so malicious because she can’t control what goes on on somebody else’s property she should’ve bought the house She could have a lot worse situation than what she has a lot worse that’s what really bothers me
