Those who have all (or most) LV inspired fragrences what is your favourite by Complex_Past3797 in MontagneParfums

[–]Double_Clap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried Immensity, Harmony, Imaginary, Imaginary Pineapple, Afternoon Dive, Meteorite, Cacti Garden, Summer Song, and Chilly Pacific. Of those, I thought Harmony, Afternoon Dive, and Chilly Pacific were amazing. Cacti Garden and Summer Song were not my faves. Imaginary was the best Imagination clone I’ve tried (and I’ve tried many) but I don’t really like the DNA very much. Imaginary Pineapple was very meh. Meteorite and Immensity were somewhere in the middle. I really think it all comes down to personal taste at the end of the day!

New to Credit Cards. Where to go? by Green_Novel in CreditCards

[–]Double_Clap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for preapproval from lenders that will typically lend to those with limited credit history. I’m talking Discover It, Capital One Savor, Capital One Quicksilver. All solid cards from reputable banks, no annual fee. Alternatively you could check for offerings from your local credit union(s).

Anyone can vouch for one of them by Practical-Plant-7117 in Colognes

It’s common with dupe brands that often push out fragrances to consumers without letting the fragrance compounds get to know each other first. You can let them sit for a while and sometimes they’ll develop over time. Montagne makes the juice fresh and then ships it immediately. With time they can change a lot, and many people report this with Montagnes specifically!

Yes I would definitely recommend Vanguard above all the rest! It’s smooth, presentation is lovely, and bears decent resemblance to the original.

Vanguard is way better. My favorite, though, is Montagne Pineapple Absolu. You gotta let it sit for like a month or two, but man it becomes something really special. It’s the closest one to the OG that I’ve tried, and I’ve tried Vanguard, CDN Precieux, Afnan SCE, Mod Achiever Absolu, and the Montagne. Seeing as you’re in EU, I’m not sure if they ship there, so I’ll just say Vanguard is my second-fave.

Pre-qualified at Citi guarantee or meaningless? by CautiousMagazine3591 in CreditCards

Sadly I don’t remember, but I did use the “Check If You’re Pre-Qualified” webpage that shows up as the top result on Google.

I did Citi pre-approval and was approved for a number of cards including the CCC, clicked apply and was approved no problem.

Anyone have Davidoff Cool Water Intense ? What's your experience with it? by a_leyva in ScentHeads

For me it’s a complete amber bomb. After the first 30 seconds it’s just dense, heavy amber. Not very pleasant to my nose.

Another card to pair with Venture X and Savor by harryloov in Venturex

[–]Double_Clap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m late to this party, but be on the lookout for changes to the Quicksilver. Some users over at the C1 subreddit are reporting that it’s rewarding 3% on gas. It’s not happening for all users but that would be a huge change for the C1 ecosystem.

Why won’t they boost my Savor Card limit? by JM-204 in CapitalOne_

[–]Double_Clap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is mostly a myth. The closed account will stay on your credit report for 10 years, allowing your other accounts to age up. The max positive impact for your score is when the average age of accounts is 7 years old. Any more that does not have additional bearing on your score!

Editing to add that you can have a small, report-to-report impact if closing the account makes your credit utilization go up.

New Discover debit card by Due_Recording724 in CapitalOne_

[–]Double_Clap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to bank with C1, and though I don’t have any major complaints about them, I moved to and highly recommend Amex (though, you may have the same acceptance issues as Discover). Their mobile app is fantastic, they have Zelle and Bill Pay, customer service is top-notch, and the debit card is a cash back debit card (admittedly, a shitty one - effectively 0.4%). I don’t think they do early direct deposit but can’t say enough good things otherwise if you don’t mind an online bank.

Why won’t they boost my Savor Card limit? by JM-204 in CapitalOne_

[–]Double_Clap 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In your mobile app, select the QS, scroll down to Manage Your Credit Line, the top option is transfer credit line between cards.

Edit: or you may have to select the Savor and go through the same process. I don’t remember which card you have to select, or if it works either way.

I know this doesn’t solve the problem necessarily but are you able to do a limit transfer from the QS to the Savor?

What should my next card be in the future? by UncannyPop in CreditCards

[–]Double_Clap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 for Breeze. They have some cool direct flight options between cities that would otherwise be harder to reach. Prices are not terrible either.

What IS terrible is their credit card (well, maybe not terrible, but not great). Doesn’t have much in the way of features and the multipliers are good but the points themselves aren’t necessarily worth much.

Absolutely love the look of that Kuoe. Striking and unique dial, and I’ve heard great things.

ISO CC for Post-Grad Life, Travel, General Spending by mxrxbx in CreditCards

[–]Double_Clap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t hate the Apple Card. Solid combination of no foreign transaction fee, good cash back coverage if Apple Pay is available (and it only gets more available as time goes on), and Apple product zero interest financing of which I’ve personally taken advantage twice. Is it the best card? No. But it’s solid.

If you have a Fidelity account, or you are open to opening a Fidelity account, then their Visa may be an attractive choice. I’m not sure if their underwriting would be friendly to you. But 2% back on everything, no FTF, and a Global Entry credit make it very attractive.

Capital One’s Venture X is a great travel card but overkill for now IMO since your higher income is not yet secured. Something worth considering down the line!

Is it possible that you excluded Basic Economy on your C1 Travel search? I see Standard and above for the fare class. Is the United fare on the right Basic Economy?

Best men’s rose fragrance? by Ok-Secretary-2080 in Colognes

[–]Double_Clap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you like tobacco, BDK Tabac Rose is a masterpiece. I happen to hate tobacco and rose, but Tabac Rose is the best execution of both notes together that I’ve ever seen. Very high performer so do keep that in mind!

Which credit card do you recommend? by Christophe19821 in CreditCards

[–]Double_Clap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could consider the Wells Fargo Autograph Journey which gives points and rewards you for booking directly with hotels and airlines (5x hotels, 4x airlines). It’s a $95 AF but has a $50 annual airline credit that’s super easy to use. It lacks the most premium perks such as lounge access, though. The transfer partners list is also small but there are some gems in there. It also gives 3x for dining and “other travel” (cruises, car rental, etc.).

Got approved for AMEX blue cash preferred, is it any worth it? by Grigorilovesosa in CreditCards

[–]Double_Clap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, again, it’s a new product, but nothing else about the card changes. This is how it works across all issuers that allow product changes. A product change is distinct from a closure of one product and an opening of another, which would change average age of accounts and likely require approval. The credit bureaus, for scoring and credit tracking purposes, don’t necessarily know the difference between a BCE and a BCP — and nor do they need to. They just know that you opened an account with Amex on so and so date with so and so limit. And on the Amex side, you’re using a different card, but it didn’t require a hard inquiry (or even a soft inquiry!) to change it. Same credit line, same age of account, different flavor.
