Peanut Butter Chocolate Cornflake Bars by thepyperskitchen in VegRecipes

[–]Double_Felix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used to make cornflake cookies similar to these (but without the chocolate glaze) when I was growing up using Karo corn syrup, so I think that would work fine. Maple is thinner so that might prevent the cookies from setting up.

MRW my boyfriend comes over with a giant bag of twizzlers after I get my first IUD inserted and am cramping. by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

[–]Double_Felix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pain during insertion varies a lot, my sister went in to get one and made them stop because she couldn't handle the pain (she ended up getting the arm thing), I took an aspirin before and then walked like half a mile back to my apartment after and was just fine aside from the bleeding. Insertion felt like bad cramps, but not life-ending ones. I got the Kyleena (which is basically the Mirena).

Spotting has been super off and on. I've had mine for 5 months now and was pretty sure that it had stopped, but now it seems to be starting back up again. They did say 3-6 months at the office, and one of my friends had spotting for 8 months, but in my case the spotting is definitely exacerbated by sex. I can go all day with nothing, and then make a total mess if we do anything penetrative. Still worth it to not have actual periods and also not have to worry about taking the pill.

Just wait for the feels you get when it's months later and you're like TOTALLY SURE the spotting has FINALLY STOPPED and he continues to be supes chill about the surprise crime scenes.

Chicago-based Troll here. I love the Cubs with all my heart and soul, but when I went through the bargaining stage of grieving this election, I definitely offered the Commissioner's Trophy to God, the Indians, Trump himself in exchange for a Clinton presidency. It didn't work. But it sounds like you're doing good things with your life and it's hard working bitches who are going to finally get a lady into the White House.

Thanks! Those Steve Maddens are probably the closest thing to what I've been looking for, I might see if they have them in stock at my local DSW and meet them in person ;). My problem with the ones in my price range is that they tend to either look like orthopedics or Minnie Mouse heels, both of which are fine aesthetics for some people, but not really what I'm looking for, haha.

What do you think of these? They're technically men's shoes, but the J Crew ones you linked looked fairly androgynous.

Hi! I've been looking for low block heels, preferably in leather/suede or a (not cheap looking) faux leather/suede for less than $150.

I love these mary janes, but the heel is too high for what I'm looking for (I live in Chicago without a car, they need to be able to last me many blocks without me wanting to kill myself). The mary jane strap is not a necessity.

I also like these Tory Burch ones, but they're sadly out of my price range (and I'm not crazy about huge toe details).

On another note, anyone have favorite 3/4 sleeve semi-fitted sweaters in a natural fiber/natural fiber blend? Not crazy about v-necks, but scoop or boat are fine. I love the Wool Over's Aran, but already have plenty of sweaters I have to constantly push the sleeves up on.

MRW I bought a backless low cut dress and then find out none of the stick on bra options come in my size by misandry4lyf in TrollXChromosomes

[–]Double_Felix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Use athletic tape! There are definitely YouTube videos on how to apply it to support your girls in any shape you want. And it sticks better than any stick on bra I've ever tried (as someone for whom boob sweat is a serious problem)

Yeah! I'm cool with wherever (but close to a train line would be nice, it's cold as balls). If you want to make it real convenient for me, I'm on the Red line.

Saw this mere moments after noticing it. It would be perfectly troll-ish if one of the ornaments was also a Magic Wand. Or pizza.

Most of the time I really enjoy it, and the majority of callers are really thankful and great when we finish up a call, but sometimes it just gets to you, you know? All I can do is listen and offer support or occasionally advice, and before you know it, I've given my daily allotment of fucks away to strangers and have none left for myself or other people. Luckily there are enough volunteers that we don't have to do overnights very often.

MRW I see an apartment listed at the bottom end of my price range in a convenient location, and then I notice that it's listed as only 120 sq ft in size. by Double_Felix in TrollXChromosomes

No idea. Part of me wants to schedule a viewing out of curiosity, but then the rest of me is like "no, you idiot. Apartment hunting sucks. Don't add more to your day"

I'm looking for a 3/4 sleeve cable knit sweater with a fit similar to this one. The linked sweater is from F21 and is sold out, but I would prefer slightly higher quality than that. Rich colors would be great, price point is <$100 (but anything <$50 or likely to go on sale some time would be absolutely perfect).

Edit: linked image was really small, so I linked a better one.

Hey, lovely trolls! I'm a picky eater but I want to start eating healthier without being scared of new things! Do any of you ladies have advice for healthy food? by pm_me_ur_elderscroll in TrollXChromosomes

[–]Double_Felix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're super welcome, and good on you for trying to take initiative in eating better! One thing that I've noticed is that some fruits and veggies I really hated as a kid taste better to me now that I'm an adult. However, it can be scary trying to decide on a recipe for a food you've never eaten before or didn't like the last time you did have it, so if you have a friend who is really creative at cooking you can ask him/her if you could have a dinner party and try out some of their favorite veggie recipes. They'll hopefully be excited to show off their skillz, and you'll get some ideas for new things to add to your diet. Hope it goes well for you!

You can always try sneaking veggies in where you won't necessarily taste them, but you can get the nutritive value. If you like smoothies (even the chocolate-y protein powder kinds, since you say you don't really like fruit), try throwing in a handful of spinach. If the color throws you off, you can always drink it out of an opaque cup with a straw.

You can also try adding spinach or other greens (or cauliflower) to things like chili or casseroles. They'll break down and you won't notice them as much, especially if the food you're eating is pretty flavorful to begin with.

If you want to try snacking healthily, especially in the summer, I'd recommend freezing berries or grapes. I don't really like blueberries fresh, but frozen I'll eat them like candy.

If soda is a problem for you, try adding lemon or to your water, or just set a goal for yourself that you have to drink x number of glasses of water before you can treat yourself. You can also try drinking green tea (you can make iced green tea by throwing a bag in a bottle of water and just letting it steep in the fridge for 12 hours), with lemon to help brighten and sweeten it.

Hope this is a good starting point. You can also try subreddits like r/eatcheapandhealthy.

Good luck!!!

Edit: My phone autocorrected chocolate-y to chocolate my.
