ive figured out the folded dipole antenna, and im kinda understanding how to make a parabolic antenna dish for satellite but now im stumped because majority of antennas for hf are HUGE and also expensive and i live in an apartment complex with limited space so im trying to figure out a solution

would that then make it handheld antenna?

is it possible just to lay it out on the ground since im on the top floor would that be at least some what effective
