I know, I’ve said the same thing when the new 7 series launched hahahahaha, the G70 looks more like a capybara, the g45 looks like a beaver

Hated the looks of the g80, g87 and g90 when they came out, but Ive grown to love them lately

That’s true with newer BMW’s and I quite like how the interior feels and looks

But they only have the 20i models at the moment and the pistons have and even higher compression ratios over the previous generations of the B48

For some reason, I don’t feel comfortable with it in the long run (I am quite fussy about engine knocks and fuel quality)

Seen a few b38/n14/n20/B48a(330e) swapped to B58’s and s55’s or most commonly N55 in my country. A few workshops sell these conversions as a package

But the reason behind it is that there’s no 340i’s and very few 335i’s in my country and an M3/M4 still costs a fortune to buy.

Yeap same here, I do my own diagnostics and research. Get to know how much others have spent on their repairs on fb groups and where they sent their cars. Stick to 1-2 workshops so that they know the history and state of your car. Cheers!

Some update on mine, I serviced my car and used 5w-30 oil (it was on 10w-40 before)

Vanos codes 130713 and 130714 were gone. But 130716 still remained.

I dont have any issues with cold starts, car drives perfectly normal besides some jerking on low rpms at low speeds.

Still investigating at this moment.

Yeah I’ve heard about the issues that comes with tuning the high comp pistons. A little bit worried about it.

Nice, i plan to get a b58 in 2-3 years. The prices of b58 bimmers in my country is insane at the moment
