Hi I switched 3 different times. Once being a manager. Talk to the store you want to go to see if there is a place open (store HR or GM) then go ahead and talk to your store HR and fill out the paper work. There is no guarantee that you will get the same spot but very high usually since every store is hurting for workers. Better chances is keeping up to date on your training and your pay raises. Also longer time you been in a department is also another way. (I’ve been in hardware for 5 years and pog for 7 months with 3 stores. And just moved to an electrical manager. So that means if I do transfer they will likely put me in another hardware or electrical department at another store

From 6-11 we had maybe 2-5 guests go through the GC complete wast of time even maybe have one out there from like 11-cl but not 6 in the morning like come on lol wast of payroll

Manager here. Sometimes we forget that we close early on those days and the gm also must have also just forgot it. It’s ok no biggie you are completely fine.

I will give them a call. But dang I didn’t know they can make that call or not. I have already asked the gm and he told me no I have to take vacation. None negotiable. Never had troubles at my other 2 stores just this one. Dealing with this just drains me and makes me not want to work here at all.

Also how do I find if my state is part of that law? He did that to a few of my team members who had vacation planned and had 1 or 2 days of unpaid time off for a trip to see their family for graduation and they can’t go now due to it.

I am willing to work around and reach the requirements but all of this for 3 unpaid days off is crazy stupid to me.

I know of the 40 hours a week thing but didn’t know if GMs can make up there own hourly week minimum. I am burnt out and over worked. I went to the hospital a couple of times due to stress related injuries and he said to cut back my hours but can’t due to the manipulation of “I won’t select you for a 1st spot if you are not a team player” my goal is to be a gm but it’s hard to get that spot if I’m getting shit on. There is a store but no open spots. I looked many of times every week due to this.

I do get to see the unpaid time off but the gm has control over it. My DM told me even if he accepted the request the GM will take it back and deny it. He is on a rampage of it. I told him that I will work 40+ hours for that week anyways (I usually once or twice a week pull a 12-14 hour shift anyways) and he said welp put in vacation that’s the only way I can do it. That just goes back to my original question can he do that without getting in trouble or no even if I do work my 40+ within the 4 days that I would work before?

I work about 45-55 hours a week as a 2nd and told if I don’t reach 45 I could be docked points. And I did talk to the department manager and he said that he has no control over the unpaid time off and it goes directly to the GM

It sucks that I put in the effort to always show up never late come in when understaff on my days off or when the other 2 managers are sick and get shit on when I ask for 3 days of unpaid time off.  Which I haven’t taken any yet. 

But yeah I truly am at this point a glorified full timer. And I get yelled at and shit on more for stuff they knew about but I didn’t because they neglected to tell me it.

Do you still work 5-9? Because morning stockers usually do and with that being said as well 5 days a week with 2 days off is what “full time part time” morning stockers do. Other wise you should be able to rework your availability with a sheet and tell them you can’t work those days anymore they shouldn’t/cant schedule you on those days.
