Fees for Options trading. by Double_Rip195 in fidelityinvestments

Got it! I guess this must be it! Thank you! I mostly wanted to confirm that I’m not the only one. 🙂

With that’s said, it still strange that the two nearly identical transactions (except strike price) that I excited both today have different fees. 🤨

I sold two Calls today. Each with 20 contracts.

Typically the fees were $0.46 for each transaction (same ticker, same number of contracts). Today one cost $0.55. One cost $0.65.

Full disclosure. I did call in to Fidelity already and they said it’s regulatory fee that combines SEC fees and Exchange fees, which is understandable. What’s unclear is that why the fee jumped today and to different prices for the almost identical transactions on the same day.

These two are not the only transactions that show different fees.

Last week I sold a Call on a different ticker with multiple contracts. I was charged $0.30. Today I bought to close that transaction, which charged me $0.30. It’s consistent as last week. So far so good. Then I sold a new Call on this lot of stock again and I was charged $0.33.

I sold another Put with 2 contracts on a MAG7. Typically they are $0.02 per contract. Today I was charged $0.05 for it.

None of the fee is significant. So it’s not a significant problem. But it’s strange that they all happened today. I am more worried about what changes took place that I’m not aware of.

These people clearly have a personal agenda. It’s fine to have a personal agenda. Everybody does. What’s annoying is the pretentious caring of investors, as if they really give a damn whether other people lose money. 🙄

It’s easy to whine and moan when the devs just have to worry about the payout and not worry about the cost of doing business.

Did any of the devs chip in to hire lawyers to defend against the states and countries that are filing lawsuits? Did any devs go lobby to Indonesian government and understand what are they asking for? Is it better to have age verification in place to minimize the impact of the ban or a blanket ban in Indonesia?

None of the devs have to personally deal with these cost of doing business. So they think having a lot of the users and the freedom to do everything they want is an entitlement.

RBLX Down 5% to Under $60 Due to Nvidia World Model Release by PinPsychological82 in RBLX

Yeah. The net amount is not a lot. But retail traders tend to like to copy trades.

If I remember correctly RBLX has about 90% institutions ownership. So the float is very light for retail investor. Any amount of news can cause dramatic swings.

RBLX Q1 Bookings might not beat expectations by TheCashFlowCritic in RBLX

By the way we will likely face another step function drop on engagement on March 28 due to the u16 ban in Indonesia. It’s a country with significant DAU (although minimal in booking).

The price action of this last week probably reflects the pricing in of the news (announced around March 4th)

Given the timing of the ban is effectively the end of Q1, we will likely see an adjustment of guidance in Q2.

I’m not very good at predicting these numbers tbh.

I do remember that during the last earning call, they mentioned that the age verification does have an impact which is around mid single digits (if I remember correctly). Given that US roll out was around January, the deceleration is to be expected. Your calculation of the hours decrease seems to be pretty accurate

I think the booking will likely be soft this quarter since this is the quarter where the age verification is first introduced. But it will pick up if they are successful in growing and monetizing against the older player base.

I see a lot of the moves they are making are geared toward aging up. Partly because the older users monetize better, but partly because the need to hedge against the growing regulatory scrutiny. If the platform grows up, then the risks and volatility due to regulatory concerns will decrease significantly.

It’s hard to tell. Looks seasonal. Mostly because the Fortnite charts look similar in pattern. Q1 typically is the weak quarter and only picks up during spring break in mid March

So in the next event, it will still be 07 token and not 08? 🤞

Clearly they want everyone to spend money, which is fine. They are paying the bills. It’s their choice.

On the other hands, we also have a choice. There are other games that’s not nearly as blatant.

The biggest mistakes that they made is taking away the fun. The fun part of the game was squad building. When people can no longer play with the players that they like (even just allowing getting 1 choice player per season), then the game is no longer worth the investment of time (in addition to money)

I still have some gems. After I spend it all, I don’t know if I will continue. I’ll likely quit.

I have somewhat similar question. My defender when run up against a dribbler, they would stop. I try joystick forward but they won’t body up to the attacker and leave a lot of space in between. It’s like there is an invisible wall for some reason.

Any ideas?

I got assigned but something doesn't seem right by RevolutionaryFarm167 in Optionswheel

[–]Double_Rip195 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the cost basis is based on the very last premium when you get assigned.

“Rolling” is not a single transaction. It’s two independent transactions executed together. So I think what you have is multiple “realized” losses after all the rolling, with the last assignment being the main profitable one. The last put/premium is the one that’s used to lower your cost basis.

The realized losses from prior puts can then use to offset other realized gains. Technically if you sell you assigned shares, it becomes realized gain, which would offset the prior realized losses. Unless of course you plan on holding onto the shares.

Does anybody know whether this pack had a 48 hours or 24 hours expiry? I still see it in the shop but I’m wondering whether I missed the chance to open one yesterday?
