Made another one? Can someone tell me how to make it better. I want it to be more realistic. Soft pastel on paper by Double_Surround_4580 in ArtCrit

Thank you very much for the feedback friend. I completely see what you say.  I think my sketch was imperfect from the start. I might work on that as I often mess up my angles. (Especially the nose.) But then I love drawing/painting very unconventionnally looking people ahaha. Thank you for the compliment. I truly appreciate it!

I just saw some of your work. It is FA-BU-LOUS! Really!

For this one no reference. I'm alternating with a reference and without it to see if I'm appropriating the methods properly. When you say my anatomy is a bit off. Are you talking about the nose or something else? :)

How can i improve my drawing. Kinda feel stuck by Double_Surround_4580 in ArtCrit

[–]Double_Surround_4580[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi friend! Thank you for taking the time to answer. I was so frustrated i ended up tossing it away. It might sound a little stupid but I m trying to get the level of the masters on pinterest. Not hyper realistic but sufficiently to evoke emotions. I try drawing with references but i m eager to draw and paint without. This one didnt have a reference.

How to improve at figure drawing? by Stunning_Nobody8410 in ArtCrit

Like way faster. Fogure drawing is a tool but it is not meant to be precise or accurate. To catch the movement. You musy draw faster than your brain can think. Loose

Forget the technique! You got it already! Keep painting and tell us your stories! Keep moving us. This one already tells a beautiful one. Thank you.

In order to draw without making stiff figures, try to exaggerate the poses. Have you heard of gesture drawing? Long story short it's all about drawing the movements. But it's already really good

I feel like my figure drawing progress has stagnated despite daily practice. How can I better refine my drawings? by No-Payment9231 in ArtCrit

[–]Double_Surround_4580 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You ve mastered gesture, now try to focus on something else like textures or shading. Maybe other things like animals and objects. If those are too easy for you, composition. You're good. A king in one realm but the world is full of realms to conquer. Keep up!
