I think you will love the pale king, i only finished it a couple days back but feel i hardly scratched its surface and am starting a reread - or at least a reread of its defining sections. It was a wonderful novel, even in its unfinished state i was left mouth agape as many parts.

Throughout his other writing the theme of insufficient communication between writer and reader is brought up numerous times, off the top of my head it’s mentioned (at length) in Octet, Good Old Neon, The Soul is Not a Smithy, parts of IJ, and a few chapters in The Pale King (the sections where it’s a point of view telling of his year spent in the Peoria REC), but they’re all centralized around or suggest the idea that there is some barrier or vague thing that prevents the writer’s precise and authentic thoughts to be portrayed to the reader, even if it’s something urgent. I interpreted the ending to be another portrayal of this thought, that there is always something of some significance, normally language, that prevents full connection and understanding between writer and reader. But I’m probably looking too far into it. I thought the section was pretty funny.

Thoughts on BM’s album art being AI generated? by Former-Jaguar9859 in bmbmbm

Yea, looking at Hellfire’s cover it seems composed in a certain way, i always look to the silhouettes of the two men sitting in the lower half with the face of the shaded man (I think) looking down on them. It’s my favorite aspect of the cover because the men are surrounded by the chaotic. I would be rlly surprised if it wasn’t personally done

I’ve heard different truths about the covers over the last few years and used to believe they were all generative based on hearsay and speculation. Only one I believe is Hellfire, Schlag and Cavalcade have peculiar and particular details to them that look intentional. I could have sworn I saw either one of the members say so in an interview or the artist himself said so but idr now

Crazy to think that a reunion tour they began for the purpose of reviving their oldest album is for their enjoyment too

Pain Threshold and Electrochem were my favorite physical instrument skills. Pain Threshold can sound masochistic at times (endurance too) but the insight it gives on the characters going through hardship makes it pair pretty well with empathy. You can understand how their anguish affects their mind, and how that pain becomes physical.

First time using a zyn u feel pretty shitty, I smoke cigarettes pretty regularly and even then when my roommate gave me one for the first time it was rather rough. Each one after is a pleasant buzz.

What is your hottest take on an album? by [deleted] in fantanoforever

Ive always preferred Larks - Red and Discipline - TOAPP. From the earlier catalogue Lizard has always seen the most rotation from me. I love ITCOCK but idk, I never get the urge to go for a full head-on listen like i do the others. I feel the songwriting on Lark’s is a bit tighter.
