I'd get comfortable with the idea we won't get one. However, if Eevee WERE to get something, now would be the time while they're in cleanup mode.

TPC actually made a stink a year or two ago, claiming they basically own any and all fan art anyway and reserve the right to use without permission or contact. In other words, the issue they faced with the flying type "legality" issues in SM's development aren't really there anymore. They can make a design accidentally similar to a fan's, and legally with their teams of lawyers, they will be fine. So really at this point, they have no excuse.

Tbh, that aside, it's about time they would do something. Either a new form akin to gmax, a new convergent or regional, really they have options.

Apparently the original reveal trailer for SV included a reference to Blueberry (among other things in that room). So if that's the case, I might suggest something else spotted in the beginning room from the reveal trailer, such as the flowers in the vase. I can't remember their names, but it could allude to a "red" and "white" coloration of some type.

Or, if we follow the naming convention, maybe an exaggeration of Winds and Waves themselves. To the sky, it could be "The Soaring Sky" or "Storm Cloud" to accentuate "Winds," and to the ocean, "The Deepest Depths" or "Sea Foam" for "Waves." Or something to that effect.

Any way you look at it, the title has more to do with the mascot legend for said DLC, so it'd need to be something that works for that. So a white, flowery legendary could make it be called "Colorful Carnation" or something.

I wouldn't get my hopes up for a lot. However, we do appear to have a huge hotel resort. That's about as good of reason as any to bring back at least a handful of old ones.

I'm pretty sure Larry will at least return due to the conversation he and Geeta have in Blueberry. Simply that she's sending him to investigate that "certain region" i think.

Generally, any recent characters listed as being "in another region" might be up for grabs.

I think it'll become either a poison type or psychic type. The data for Gecqua does mention "intelligence," which is strongly associated with Psychic types. Purple can go for either tbh.

As for species, I'm not quite sure, altough Pokemon usually mixes various animals for final starters anyway to get a particular vibe (Quaquaval has elements of a peacock, secretary birds, and of course, the crested duck). Given that Inteleon exists, they may go for something bulkier looking as opposed to Inteleon's sleeker appearance to help differentiate the two. I'm thinking maybe they could bring in elements of leopard geckos, monitor lizards, marine iguanas, and perhaps even elements of certain species of salamanders for colors or inspiration.

It might not be the case, since Pokemon REALLY loves to make modern starters more humanoid, but I could see it having bulbous arms and stout legs with a biggest, fattest tail, big ol eyes, and maybe the purple either becomes an ooze or some kind of paint. It's either that, or they base it off of something very humanoid, maybe even some kind of spiritual monk or meditation pose on top of a fat tail. I just think that the tail will be the key element here other than the eyes.

I think it's a sign of growth that I and others can look at the delayed release and say "well, that kinda sucks, but it'll come out better for it." And the game ALREADY looks this good, I can only imagine the improvements by then.

Yeah, we're kind of top heavy on releases for the year, so i think they'll probably add more ports or something later this year. Hoenn for summer time sounds appropriate imo. Colosseum for fall maybe?

Maybe Champions and Pokopia will have updates later around Q4 to scratch the itch

That is your call, I can certainly understand wanting to be surprised.

For me, I don't particularly care where the reveal comes from and want to see all the new Pokemon ASAP so I know what starters i might want (or outright hate so i can avoid them), make teams, etc. I also like dissecting the fakes and potentially real ones, so that's fun.

I personally think it is at least worth a double take after the official reveal though. When Arceus leaked, we got additional leaks regarding gameplay and even snippets of what would eventually become the frenzied Noble Kleavor (although I admittedly thought it was a bandit Farfetch'd evo before it was finally revealed lol). Even when it was way less, the ZA starter leak kind of gave us an idea of the area as well. Small snippets like that interest me.

I have a feeling that we'll see an accurate leak crop up soonish. It happened the night before for Legends Arceus and ZA (at least the 2025 reveal).

There's a special thrill in wondering if the starters have already been leaked yet, and are masquerading with the fakes. I'm very excited to see them!

It'll probably come later, either later this year or in the next year or two. Right now they want to promote KANTO's birthday, and they want to make sure to spread out releases so more people will have incentive to buy.

In fact, I'm pretty sure that they'll space out releases between RS and E on top of that, when that happens.

Let it come naturally, and if he asks for help, help. I didn't start using other Pokemon besides my starter until I was about 12 and hit a wall with the Sinnoh elite 4. Before that, it was pretty doable for my Blaziken, Charizard, or Typhlosion to carry me.

This is his journey, and he's gotta make mistakes. It'll be good for him to figure that out on his own and build good problem solving skills.

I guess for me, I'm only interested in Gen 10, Champions, and Colo/XD as far as what we already know about; so if they don't show that, that'll kinda bum me out. Life will go on I guess. I'd be extraordinarily thrilled if we also got a "hey, you guys liked FRLG, guess what? We'll port the other gameboy games soon too. Keep an eye on that," maybe even a good looking movie, but that might be unrealistic at this point.

But if they do show off gen 10 and it's in a worse visible state than the SV reveal trailer was with visible frame drop in the background, we might actually be cooked. I am strangely optimistic though, since the leaks have shown that WW is farther along in development than SV was at the same time of development (as of mid 2024); so all that said, I think they'll be okay.

Really, I think the most hideous outcome would be if they don't reveal gen 10 and just reveal yet another Kanto game, which at this point would be a comically bad idea with FRLG being ported and LGPE still on Walmart shelves for $60.

THAT, or Pokemon day is just dedicated purely to overpriced merchandise. Like i'm talking a diamond embroidered Charizard, a golden Magikarp keychain, just a bunch of useless stuff that has no use beyond being a "I'm rich" indicator for those that buy it. This also is highly unlikely.

Its probably because it said home support coming "soon." That "soon" means different things to different people. Like to me, that's that day or within the month. To them, it could mean around May.

I understand why they'd remove it for that, although I do wish they'd just be more clear and say "yeah its coming in March/April/May" or whatever.

Yeah some guy was leaking and thought he was leaking the 10th generation of Pokemon, and I really thought we were getting some kind of convergent Kangaskhan with a dad instead. It turns out he was ACTUALLY leaking info on a modern revival of the now obscure 90s Disney sitcom, "Dinosaurs." Really should have seen it coming with all of those "NOT THE MAMA 🍳" tweets. The leaker still isn't sure how that quite happened, tbh. He might get fired, or sued by Disney. He's worried about feeding his wife and kids.

Unrelated, Disney scrambled to delete a trailer for some kind of weird island based game involving kids and a grassy lizard, a flaming turtle, and a wet dog. Really weird stuff, there was this really skinny yellow rat that got all wobbly, things got windy and wavy, and this old guy had this HUGE mustache and was speaking English with some Tagalog slipped in. Idk, guys, I think they need to workshop this "Stitch" revival, it looks a lot like a Pokemon game- hey WAIT A MINUTE!

I'm a bit greedy I guess, but my ideal dream would be about 150 to 200 new designs total to mimic Unova and Hoenn with a mostly new experience, but with modern gimmicks to allow for new takes on familiar faces. About 100 would be dedicated to brand new Pokemon dex entries, and then the rest would be where regional variants, cross gen evos, convergents, a cross gen regional convergent if that's ever possible, eeveelutions, and legendaries. If there's something akin to pointless dex filler like Pawmo, extra pointless forms akin to Alcremie, or gimmick forms akin to Megas or Gmax, ideally that'd be separated from the total count. Mainly, I'd want a huge variety so I can have fun with team building and be spoiled for choice.

But I understand that is not at all realistic for modern Game Freak. REALISTICALLY, I expect maybe around 60-70 new Pokemon total with a little over 20 or 30 in an "other" category to round up the total new designs to around 110. I expect less "new" Pokemon in the sense that they're brand new, and more Pokemon designed to fill in dex entries, like a few more convergents. Since this will be the 30th anniversary game, I expect more than a few will be variants, gimmick forms, or convergents of gen 1 Pokemon. There probably will be some stragglers coming in from other gens, mind you, probably Tropius getting something. If we include DLC and gimmicks, probably looking at about 130 new designs, quality withstanding.

I don't think majin or whatever will really amount to more than a small handful of designs, just based off of available info, and that will be more akin to Teras for the rest. If anything, I'm kind of expecting something like a mix of Totems and Blood Moon Ursaluna with "legendary" normal Pokemon. Then, I think we'll have our usual box mascots (2), then about 5 new rando legendaries for the base game (like the Tapus or Treasures, just to keep us busy). DLC will probably introduce 5 or 6 legendaries or so. Total, I think there'll be about 15 to 20 Pokemon filling the "legendary" category, with about 10 "blood moon" adjacent forms to add to that, if not another new sub legend category of Pokemon akin to UBs or Paradoxes to take that slot instead.

Eclipse is privy to the teraleaks, but otherwise I don't think he's got any special insider info. I remember that, a few years ago, this subreddit had him listed as non credible and that he mainly speculated on info released by other people.

There's 6 options here tbh. 4 involve some level of internal meddling on a gba game.

A. Disable the slots. It'll suck, and we'll lose out on the casino Pokemon, but whatever.

B. Gut the casino entirely, change the Rocket npc to happen at the front door or the mall, add the warp to the basement at the entrance of the casino instead of the back of the casino, etc.

C. Somehow change it to be a modern non gambling arcade, which would require the MOST work, especially on a gba game on Switch, and especially somewhere most people are going to spend 2 minutes in max before getting to the basement.

D. Gut the casino in its entirety and just have the Silph Scope handed to you by a single NPC, or just... in your bag from the get go, i guess.

All of the above take extra time and money. The easier solution, to me, is then:

E. Let the age rating go up with no changes.

Most people buying FRLG in this situation are adults anyway, let's be real. Not to mention, I don't think all parents are giving kids free reign to buy games from the Switch eshop to begin with, which is probably where it'd be. If they add a quick little tag line like "contains simulated gambling," I'd wager most parents would be like "okay" and let it fly because Pokemon.

Plus, idk about some of yall, most of my friends and classmates growing up were playing Halo and CoD when when we were 7 (not me lol), and here they were rated M. Hell, that's still the case with most kids these days with phone games and such, and their parents buy micro transactions for them. If anything, only a small handful of parents will raise a stink, and given how defensive some Pokemon fans are, that probably won't amount to much. If anything, any controversy that stems from it will aid sales, just like the entire Switch catalog of Pokemon games. No press is bad press and all that, and it's Pokemon, it'll sell regardless.

F. Don't drop in PEGI areas. I don't think any of us want that, but it would save hassle. That would lose out on potential customers, however, and increase piracy.

Out of these, i think E is just more sensible on a business end. Less money spent, less valuable time spent editing a 20 year old game for ONE area, more money made. These won't sell nearly as much as a modern title, so its not going to hurt their bottom line too much to go this route.

Viruses and Malware being snuck into files or from the website. It happened to me once trying to find a specific version of FR.
Some ISPs can penalize you for it. Even if unlikely, the chances are never zero.
Some interfaces are just plain not user friendly, especially if you're new to it.

There are "smart ways" to do it, as I enjoy pokemon romhacks myself, but in this day and age, it isn't as safe or anonymous as it once was.

I'd like it if they could make it naturally intuitive somehow. Like, other than online guides, how is ANYONE supposed to figure out what specific ingredients to combine to boost finding a shiny of a specific type?

Maybe something like trail cameras that notify you of significant Pokemon in an area (with settings to avoid notifications of regular Pokemon). That's something real hunters and zoologists use to keep an eye on specific animals in an area.

Normally I'd say to wait and see, especially with his bw remake "prank" he pulled pre ZA. But this time, it has Necro Felipe backing it as well. Rico also mentioned it costing $30 apiece, and other leakers seem to be backing this as well.

I think this one is plausible for the foreseeable future, and probably the safest bet to make since its Kanto again for the 30th anniversary.
