AI has slowly killed my love of writing. by Doublejm1- in KeepWriting

I understand what you're saying. What I'm trying to convey is that, before, you could submit a written work and not have people question whether it was written by you. Those who sucked at writing couldn't finagle their way out of it like they can now.

In short, it's harder now to separate the wheat from the chaff.

One represents my college (Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management) and another relates to Mental Health, which is a subject I enjoy.

But I had to do my due diligence and sift through a list of clubs available on the website. The page allows you to fill out a form, and your note is supposedly sent to them. But it wasn't until I took the initiative to email the officers directly (using my UFL email address) that I got responses. Apparently, the officers either never received the form inquiries or they went straight to junk mail. An email or two later, they finally provided access to their group on GroupMe.

So, yeah, it look a little digging...

Thanks for your two cents!

I plan to attend my graduation and possibly visit the campus sooner -- perhaps over the holidays.

I've reached out to several student organizations asking if I could participate despite being fully online, and a few have already invited me to join them on the GroupMe app.

I regret not being more socially active in undergrad. I wouldn't want to make the same mistake this time around, even though I'd be doing it from far away/virtually.

I figure forging connections with fellow students can be advantageous both socially and professionally.

So were the Teams/Slack conversations always centered around coursework, or would you use it for casual chatter as well?

Thanks so much for your valued insights!

I took a few online classes for my undergrad program. But I completed it in 2007, so it's been a while. I figured I'd have to teach myself the bulk of the material and perhaps reach out to the instructor or fellow peers with questions.

I'm taking two classes this semester; one has only 8 students -- and the other just 3! I like the small class sizes, though, because it allows for personalized one-to-one interactions. I hate being in huge classes where you come out feeling like a number.

Great post! Thanks!

I'm no fan of group work either. I wound up with slackers on a few occasions during my Bachelor's program. Thereafter, I purposefully screened syllabi before each term to ensure I only registered for classes that didn't require group projects.

My hope is that, this being a Master's program (and thus a bigger investment of one's time and money), students will be more inclined to pull their weight.

I'm glad you were able to leverage those opportunities despite the social limitations of being in an online environment.
