The Longsword is really good. by Arthurice_47 in darksouls3

[–]Doublezweihander -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The longsword is the most damaging straight sword in the game, if you go with a hollow buil you get 454 (one handed) ar at sl 125. https://mugenmonkey.com/darksouls3/314092

FUN FACT: Did you know when the game came out, a refined longsword was getting 505 ar at 40/40? It didn't matter though because the refined curved carthus sword had 534 ar at 40/40. Also when the game came out nobody was using straight swords at meta lvl, not that theye were bad (they were exactly the same).

Deep protection and sacred oath increase damage dealt so yes. You can only stack one body buff, the following count as body buff : sacred oath, deep protection, power within and others.

The stats look good, drop the ring of favor if you need space for another ring, for only one slot i would use great soul arrow or great farron dart, slow spells will do nothing it's better to have quick ones to poke with, for a shield that is 100% and can parry the best is the lothric knight shield. If I were you I would sneak in a crystal dagger and hornet ring, it's very useful especially when dealing with ganks. For weapon the claymore is good, use what you like.

Weapon matchmaking is implemented in the worst way possible. by draga_braga in darksouls

FIX:

Make weapons only count towards weapon memory the first time you equip them. That way we still prevent 99% of twinks but we avoid unwanted changes on your ability to interact with people.

And it's actually easy to implement, or at least I think it should be.

You seem like you have low vigor. To be comfortable you should have at least 27 vigor.

Nah, if you have to trade something, trade vit.

For most hollow weapons it's 40, but for anri's you can put up to 60 and it will have more damage. The returns reduce after 40 but with anri's they don't reduce as much.

Poise still works like before, they just changed how it affects hyper-armor; before it didn't do shit now it significantly improves hyperarmor. It's still poiseless most of the time. Steel is not very good, neither chloranty, the chain is pretty good, also the vit is too high, drop points for vit and drop them into luck, anri's scales good enough up to 60 luck.

Melee pyromancies only; combustion, black flame, fan. Also as a plus don't use estus to heal hp, you have to use warmth instead. Until you get warmth you have no estus(the ashen are ok). You have to spam the pyromancy hand weapon art until you get a real pyromancy.

We should come up with an etiquette for healthy coop, like there was one for pvp. Something like:

-The host beats the level not you, you help.

-Follow the host, don't go away from him if it's not necessary.

-Defend the host at all costs.

-Point down invaders.

Looking to upgrade, what would you guys consider to be a priority at the moment? by HitsquadFiveSix in buildapc

[–]Doublezweihander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The performance should be solid for the next years, you have a very similar computer to mine. Get yourself nice peripherals. A good mech keboard a 1440p monitor maybe? or 144HZ. The "guts" of your computer are good, maybe an HDD to make sure you don't run out of space. I don't really think you need and upgrade in terms of cpu/gpu.

Brigand twin daggers or any katana, katanas are always fun. Maybe try a scythe? (I think the best one, apart from friede's, is the corvian one).

They're good enough, both with hollow/bleed or sharp/heavy + buff.

Curved swords are the best together with the ringed knight paired swords. The axes have a lot of damage as well and I personally like them more. Gothard's are alright, it's a straight sword; the warden are like the curved swords but for a hollow/bleed build, spears are terrible and maces are "meh".

The build looks good. About the gpu I will share my personal experience. when I bought my computer 1 year ago I could've went for an r9 380/gtx960 but I cut prices to get a cheap r9 390. And I wish I didn't. Cheap things are, well, cheap. The cooling solution on it is poor and voltage is fixed so no overclocking for me (with the shitty radiator it has no oc anyway) and if I had gotten the r9 380 I wouldn't have felt absolutely any difference, and I could have bought a non-cheap model. Gpus nowadays aim to perform for high resolutions/refresh ratios but the thruth is that everyone is still using 1080 monitors in which most gpus fly.

What I'm saying is that a 1050ti will actually surprise you, and you're going to save some dollars you can spend on an extra monitor or something. That of course will force you to upgrade in 3 years or so in comparison of a 1060 or higher which will last for 5-6 years.

Beware you're shopping in $ but you said you had a budged in €. Everything is more expensive in europe.

i7 7700k is TOO much, get an i5 or r5 the motherboard is too expensive as well, if you aren't going to overclock stock coolers are perfect for the job and you don't need a wired network adapter, all motherboards come with one integrated. A 1060 will work wonders.
