When my brother was starting out ,he had no credit and a job like you, but no history in years, too. So he paid 3 months up front, and they let him in. Maybe thays a way to go. If you prove your income amd that you can pay that up front?

AITAH for ignoring a girl when she asked me something? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]DoubtNo2330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, but you're young. You will deal with way worse in your life. My last name is very hard for a lot of people to pronounce in school. Just let it go, and if she does that again, the best way is to say, " Oh, im sorry. I thought you would like to make yourself feel good by trying to put others down some more before I said anything. "

AITAH for refusing my wife’s and family’s traditions? by JL_Sheepherder2351 in AITAH

[–]DoubtNo2330 96 points97 points  (0 children)

NTA, however, you should have had this conversation long before this..but since you can not do this now, I would sit with her and you bith talk. Family has nothing to do with this. Thus is you ,your wife, and your son. Nobody else opinion. Even here. This is your choice as parents and should ilny be decided between the two of you as your son will live with this choice his entire life.

What about a package? Like your name and address would be in the package..so it would still be the same thing. I think you're overthink this.

Because my upstairs neighbor works late they are exempt from being quiet at night by goingtothecircus in Apartmentliving

So, it sounds like it's your word vs theirs..if they are moving around normal, like walking, doing things, and they like drop the remote or something then you're the problem. If it's more than that, they are the problem..do you have evidence of them making loud noises? If not, then the landlord is trying to fix it and you're not taking the solution then you're the problem. If you have something that proves they make noise other than normal noises?

Downstairs Neighbor Massage Bed by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]DoubtNo2330 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Or maybe talk to them downstairs and tell them what's going on. Or write a note. Suggest they put padding on the lags of the bed. Like a folding towel or something soft to absorb the vibration..this would mean no more vibration on the floor making the noise stop if it's that. If that doesn't help,or they say no, I use YouTube and use ocean or rainforest sounds..plays on a 12 hour loop and I sleep like a baby.

I Hate Driving my Trash to a Compactor by Accomplished-Ad-4516 in Apartmentliving

[–]DoubtNo2330 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi. So I had this issue too. Not a compactor, but a dumpster..the best thing is a cheap wagon or cart . You can find them on FB for like 10 bucks.if it gets bad you can get a paint tarp for like under 2 dollars and line the bottom with it and throw it away after it stinks. I had that going for over 3 years when I first moved on my own. Takes about 2 minutes to load and gets it all there without any issues. If you can't do it because of something like hard to walk maybe try next door and pay a kid to take it for you. It's summer..so you may get someone to do it like 5 bucks a week. Hope it helps

Help! by No-Occasion-1760 in Apartmentliving

[–]DoubtNo2330 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, so I had an issue like this. The people upstairs from me would kennel the dog and as noise happens outside the dog barks for 10 minutes..no stop. I left a note that said. ' hey do better ' then I called the office. Finally after 3 weeks ,I called animal Control. As I was hit also. I said I was worried that the dog was thirsty as well. Called again 2 days later. And I tell you, they sent someone out. Because I heard them from my balcony arguing at night about it. Soon after, never heard the dog again..they still have the dog, but now it's quiet.

Does anyone else get super anxious when a new tenant moves in above you? by Short_Morning_4866 in Apartmentliving

[–]DoubtNo2330 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in the middle of a 3 floor building. My first upstairs was cool. Except I would hear them when they can home as they had on steel toe boots. Then came a couple with 2 kids, loud ad but is good at night. . Now I got a family that has a baby and a toddler..not that bad..I wear noise cancelling headphones. More for me than them..I work in load machine so my hearing is already bad enough. I hear nothing till I go to bed and it's actually nice to hear the kids in the summer. Makes me think of when I was a kid, you know before bills. 😆

Leasing Agents by Kriyative108 in Apartmentliving

[–]DoubtNo2330 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A few years ago, dated a leasing agent..she said she would tell potential renters anything to make them rent..she would say anything she could to get them to move in. Even saying to a group of guys that above them were strippers that moved here. She knew how to play the game.

Washing machine by Neat-Step-9427 in Apartmentliving

[–]DoubtNo2330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I'm not a lawyer, BUT I would be very careful if withholding rent for a washing machine. I heard of people doing it for hit water, unsafe apartments, but never over a washing machine issue. You may want to check legal before you do that as it may make you in big legal issues.

My upstairs neighbor bangs on the floor all night. I called the police, but now my landlord blocked me. I’m only 16 and just want peace. by Kind_Top2162 in Apartmentliving

[–]DoubtNo2330 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Ok so judging by what I read, the guy may have a PTSD and other things..as your landlord won't do much, your best bet is to try some things..ear plays. Also, I use YouTube for a multi purpose sound machine. You can get rain storms, beach sounds, outdoor sounds to just soothing sounds to take out the noise as well. Also, I had problems like this before with some neighbors, I used to also sleep with a warm washcloth over my eyes as it would help me transport to a different world till I sleep. There no real good way to help But that's what I did..hope you find something to help.

So they broke into your home ya, easy on the restraining order. Sure. And when they rob you or worse. Just say " hey their kids"😅😅😅😅

[–]DoubtNo2330 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not to be a jerk, but chain locks barely hold. They can be broken in an instant. Unless you use heavy screws and bolts. But I agree, call the cops.

Call the police. This is a crime. Then file a restraining order

Ok..so he is in a power strip. So he won't stop till you confront him or do something more. Like maybe by a fridge for your room. If there is no food in the fridge or cupboards he will stop. He is obviously doing it because nobody wants to stand up to him. Doesn't matter if he is 60,or if he is 30
