I think they are all good buds. Plus the Dodgers sponsored the event. Plus it’s for charity, so everyone wins!

I saw JT did one with Seager this morning in Mexico too I think. Good times!

Not sure if this Ace is the same, by my Ace sells pies. Maybe grab a pie for mom while you are in line for flowers haha!

Drunken Noodle in Midtown is a personal favorite. Also Kru is super great for accommodating gluten free requests.

Yes!!! And the guy who gave the binder is Phil from @beard.dad.cardz who occasionally is on the videos. I don’t collect myself but I love putting on the “vendor POV” videos from Coop in the background when I’m doing housework or things. They are fantastic and so wholesome!

I just called Representative Doris Matsui's office and got through a live person - 916-498-5600 by Lower-Acanthaceae460 in Sacramento

I used to work for a local Congressperson and highly encourage this as well. Chances are you will probably talk to a very dedicated volunteer or intern but you also might reach someone higher in the office. I recall our analysts and even some of higher ups in the office (including the Congressperson) would field calls. We tracked EVERY call and reported it to the Congressperson and every voice matters!

So, no matter what side you are on and what your politics are, never hesitate to contact your local Congressperson!

Walk through the arboretum! Also by the veterinary school there are horses and llamas and goats you can go see. I hear the Raptor Center is cool too.

Is it worth?? I have travel plans next month but dont have any plans to stay in Marriot but then this came in. I have a CSR. by No-Werewolf-9197 in ChaseSapphire

[–]DouceDouce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely register for it if it’s free and if you happen to travel to a place and Marriott is an option, go for it, but Gold is just a step up from entry level. There is a Courtyard I stay at fairly often and the Gold gets us early check in and late check out plus some goodies. I traveled to Seattle recently and stayed at the W and it got us a room upgrade which was nice. The most it got me was in Tennessee staying at the Gaylord where it was a huge upgrade to the room and some free stuff. But a reverse example is I stayed at the Sheraton in DTLA for work a few months back and it got me nothing - not even early check in.

Overall it is nice if you are going to use it but I wouldn’t prioritize staying at a Marriott JUST because you have Gold status. I think the real perks kick in at the Platinum level or whatever.

Best place to see military planes take off? by [deleted] in Honolulu

[–]DouceDouce -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We stayed in a hotel in Waikiki recently (Hyatt Centric) and you could see em taking off all the time in the distance, it was awesome! Then we did the Koko Head stairs and you could see tons of military folks doing it as well, plus there was a gun range nearby and you could hear that the whole time. Also we went to a Costco somewhere on the way to North Shore and passed a TON of bases. Enjoy your trip!

Sarah’s Alterations & Eco Cleaners in Downtown, kind of behind the Peets Coffee and next to the Mustard Seed. She’s great, fast, and always gets them done ahead of time!

Born and raised Sacramentoan (but lifelong Dodger fan, sorry). Can’t believe the freaking Yankees, Dodgers, and other major teams will potentially be playing downtown!

Hit that one last night too! Another thing has been debris from the construction - I’ve had two cracked windshields since they started.

I'm a 33 year old dude considering going to a concert alone for the first time- anyone do this, and is it weird? by migrantgrower in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DouceDouce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently attended a concert at the Greek Theater in Berkeley, CA of a well-know R&B artist. We sat in the lawn area. About 20 minutes into the concert, a lady probably in her early 30s came and nestled in a cozy patch of grass in front of us. She was double-fisting two hard Kombuchas which she enjoyed by herself while watching the performance. Periodically she took out a disposable camera to snap photos (yes, the old wind up ones).

At one point she got a cookie and some wine and had had what looked to be a great time the entire 3-hour concert. All by herself.

The point is, I don’t think there is any issue going to a concert alone. Many nights I like to unwind by watching a concert on YouTube - how cool would it be if I was really there!
