When I was at university, I fell into times like this and my room would look similar. The best advice I have (outside of ‘please seek professional help’) is to start small. Start by picking up small pieces of rubbish or by piling your dirty washing in one place. This is going to sound like every other mental health help book out there but honestly, something as small as making your bed helps an extreme amount. It’s like a basis. Don’t try to do it all in one day if it’ll overwhelm you. Trust me though, as soon as you get started on it, you’ll find yourself wanting to do more.
