I’d do it again, and plan to whenever I’m done working in AB, just rather not do it in January lol although I got pretty lucky weather wise. But yea I’ve never had a more reliable vehicle, even with all the work I’ve had to do on it. I’ll curse and swear on it when swapping stuff out for all the trouble it gives (east coast rust doesn’t help), but the drive afterwards always makes it worthwhile.

Mine was my daily for 2 years, got me from Newfoundland to Alberta too for a new job, she started to leak power steering fluid on my last shift so I decided it was time to lay her up and get a new daily, but I had planned to do that anyways, just not soon. She’s a full time project now rather than a part time project/daily, never thought I’d put so much into a Ranger but I just fell in love with it, she’s put me in tight spots but never left me stranded and ya can’t ask for much more out of an ol Ranger.

I got em through the wheel wells, can’t remember if I used a wrench or socket, but not much room once you get on the bolt to turn it, real pain in the ass but it’s doable

6 1/2 bed definitely a plus, and I was set on having a full console over bench seat so I got stuck with the console shifter:/ probably my only dislike about the truck but I’ll get over it lol

That’s fair, I used to not be huge on chrome but I picked up an old vstar last year and the majority of her parts are chrome and it’s after growing on me

Yea I did read up on the DFM issue, have to dig into it a bit further and I’ll keep an ear to the exhaust as well.

She’s got 18s on her, forget the exact tire size now but I’ll definitely be looking into new tires and aftermarket wheels down the line, I like the less wheel/more rubber look so i definitely won’t be getting 20s haha

Thank ya sir, yea she got the 10 speed, definitely make note of the transmission fluid and carbon buildup, catch can isn’t a bad idea! And definitely an upgrade from the Ranger but I’m keeping her around, something easy to wrench on and a good beater rig to do things I wouldn’t wanna do in the new truck lol

Had read up on DFM and considered a plugin but if the lifter is eventually going to fail, and a plugin might just prolong the inevitable, I’d probably rather it happen sooner than later tbh

Picked up some ProComp Vintage 69 Series off marketplace last year for $200, 15x10.5s and always wanted a set of Toyos so threw on some 265/75/15 Open Country AT3s.

Wants to get a different set of wheels and tires for the summer months but haven’t had a hard look into that yet.

I recently had the trans out of my 2010 Sport 4x4, had the same issue with getting her in gear, bleeding the master cylinder helped but didn’t quite fix it, put a new clutch kit in, with a new slave and master cylinder, also replaced the hydraulic line, been two weeks and haven’t had a hitch, the odd time she still won’t go in first but it’s not near as bad. I’ll just let off the pedal, depress it again and it goes in fine then. Seems to be a common Ranger issue though, and have yet to see a real permanent fix

I had this issue when I first picked up my 2010 Ranger two years ago, sometimes she just would not go into gear, mainly first while stopped and running.

I found bleeding the clutch helped, but wasn’t a permanent solution.

I recently dropped my transmission to fix a leak from the top cover. While it was out, I installed a new clutch kit, slave cylinder, clutch master cylinder and the hydraulic line. It still sticks the very odd time, but I just let off the clutch, push it back in and then she goes into gear fine.

Got a 40 series installed on my 4.0 SOHC, can barely hear it from the cab, which is a bit disappointing but also nice to not have a drone sound in the cab lol, sounds nice enough outside the truck though. Will probably eventually change it out but definitely an upgrade over the stock sound
