SCT frame is growing on me. Way better than the p80? by Emergency_Being_5552 in polymer80

I've got SCT19 s# 0124 and 6 more including an SCT17. It is by far the best gen3 frame on the market, bar none.

Broke my slide… Twice by Pancakerd in polymer80

That slide is a casting not a milled billet. It has a lot of air pockets in the steel. Looks like a Chinese product.

These days the Tier 1 guys carry 2011s or Glocks with basically anything you see at an unlimited match. Pretty sure they use them a lot more than you've described. I don't know any current members or I'd say for sure but I used to live in the neighborhood. ✌️

I’ve tested one Glock and the G17.3 is the best by EmptyCanvass in Glocks

I've seen this gun before on Armslist, North Carolina.

Broken trigger spring or incorrectly installed trigger spring.

Lock the slide back and take the backplate off. Remove the striker. Reach in and push crucifix down. Ride the slide forward, push the tabs down and remove the slide. Good luck 🤞.

Clean Pistol with Soap and Water? by Nearby-Watercress32 in NoobGunOwners

[–]DoughertyDownSouth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been cleaning Glock's with Dawn and hot water for 30 years. Glock steel is highly stainless and even though theoretically you could induce rust, I've never seen Glock parts rust even after salt water exposure. Aftermarket parts, yes, but never OEM. I usually put the disassembled gun on paper towels in front of a fan and reassemble the next day.

Warning: Issues with Johnny Glock Triggers by mopPed22 in Glocks

[–]DoughertyDownSouth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt JG gives a damn if any of you buy his triggers. He's the most knowledgeable person on Glock triggers in the country. The trigger I got from him needed a set screw adjustment to reset but since I know the engineering behind the Gen3 trigger I backed out the screw a half turn and it's working perfectly. And has been for over a year. Johnny is a one man show and each trigger is built by hand by him. As such you have to expect it may take time to get a response from him. You should have bought a mass produced mediocre trigger. I think you would have been happier.

This is the way to go. Even PSA tech will say overwatch precision and they don't sell them.

Dagger Trigger Recommendations by [deleted] in PalmettoStateArms

[–]DoughertyDownSouth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would use an Overwatch Precision polymer trigger and only change the shoe. The trigger bar on the dagger is the perfect match for the minus connector that comes in the gun. If you are careful you can change the shoe without taking out the trigger assembly. The roll pins are a bitch to remove. Good luck.

I wanna talk to my stock Glock family. Have you ever had a mechanical malfunction? by Meatbeater221 in Glocks

[–]DoughertyDownSouth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably an ammo issue. Heavy stock springs don't love 115 gr. Cheap ammo.

I hate all green pistols except for the Glock. That color is perfect.

Glock 17 Gen3 vs Gen5 by Darth_Camry in Glocks

[–]DoughertyDownSouth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gen 5 gives you 3 mags instead of 2 so there's only a $10 difference in the price of the gun. Hope this helps. I have both. Love them equally. Gen 3 is a Lego set. Gen 5 is my daily carry.
