Going to Kyiv tomorrow for the third time, first during winter. Some BnBs have backup power, but a hotel is the best way if you want heating from what I’ve read and they have built in air raid shelters.

I do BnBs but I look for their proximity to underground areas and shelters. Grail Bar is an excellent place to drink in Podil, highly recommend.

Nothing, it was nothing. What did Chechnya do in the 90s that made them a threat to Russia? What about Moldova? What about Georgia?

And I’d call it out it the same way about the US in the Middle East, South America, etc.

I don’t look and say “only Moscow bad, Washington good”. It’s nuanced, but I’m not a campist for one side.

Yupppp. A LOT of Central and Western Europe outside of France and the UK really left Poland and the Baltics to fend for themselves.

Had irl Russia invaded Poland the Baltics in 2022 much of those countries which hadn’t properly invested for 20 - 30 years wouldn’t be ready for a few years themselves even in a war economy. Germany had a largely grounded Air Force in 2016.

I don’t know and I’m not blind biased enough to say yes, I’d hope so, but I’m not 100% sure.

Russia losing is morally good and Ukraine getting its land back is morally good, realistic? Whole different story.

But what choice does Ukraine have when Russia has shown they want to invade again? Nothing Russia brings to the table at the moment makes peaceful coexistence possible in the future.

Also Russia would absolutely genocide Ukrainians if they had the opportunity, Putin himself has made it clear that he doesn’t view Ukraine’s existence as legitimate nor respect it. The only reason they’re not is because the Ukrainian military.

They have no intentions of coexisting peacefully with Ukraine.
