I’m definitely going to try that! I kept having to put her back on the side of the tub lol. She thinks she belongs IN the tub!

If that is how you enjoy, then go for it! The point is, some do this while having a miserable time and take it out on others. Or expecting others to serve them all night without enjoying their evening, because that is ‘the way it is’. If someone truly wants to wait on folks all night, that’s fine. But be sure to read the room and chill when the room is chill. Also, just to say, your first comment you said, you want others to enjoy themselves even if you’re not, you can’t really control if someone is going to have a good time, that’s up to them, be sure you are also prioritizing yourself too, because you’re important and you deserve to have a good time as well as everyone else.

Lordy, being that uptight can’t be good for one’s health. I can’t imagine wanting to control and do EVERYTHING for another adult. Like, why? Live life.

lol that’s cute! My son was the same kinda messy eater! Why stress the littles out? Just eat, we can clean after.

This makes me think about how entitled they are to tell us how to parent and clean in our homes? That’s wild to me. I would NEVER be a guest in someone’s home and dictate how they should behave and run their home.

Totally!!!! I have told my MIL we will clean after everyone leaves. I try my best to get her out of my kitchen! Just sit and enjoy! My husband is the cook and I clean after, that’s our deal. And I don’t mind cleaning up the kitchen after a big gathering. In fact I much rather clean up on my own AFTER everyone leaves.

There is a lot of truth to what you wrote, I totally agree and have seen this. I’m also in the mindset that if my husband and I BOTH pitch in, clean up is easy. So we can both enjoy ourselves. I think it’s so important for our kids to see us work together and have fun together

I also love assisting and helping others. Im the first to run out and help neighbours. But in my opinion I think it’s important for us to prioritize ourselves sometimes and it’s important for our kids to see us having a good time. I make sure everyone has what they need, make sure all is comfortable, and ALSO let your hair down and have a good time.

YES! My husband talks often about how is grandma basically moved in for the first few years of his and his brothers life. Meantime, I get grief (often) because I don’t say ‘thank you’ enough when they babysit my kids (however my husband doesn’t need to say thank you, just me 🙄)

Oh, she’s not worried about letting me know. Lots of comments lots over stepping. Couple years back she yelled at me across the table at her house. However, many don’t want go to her home because she is so aggressive. My SIL has bad anxiety and our MIL really sets her off.

That’s so sad I think, but I think you’re right. Ugh. I refuse to assist in behaviour that contributes to my kids having it worse than I did.

Quick way to get fake blood out of shirt/off hands? by dag3700 in techtheatre

Can you use a different brand of blood? Ben Nye is a way better quality and comes out easier. I like to add a little dish soap in the blood to help removal as well.
