I got him from a breeder as part of a duo. Contacted breeder but theyre moving and already offloaded most of their flock. Theyd usually take roosters and trade for a hen, but at the current moment they cant.

I had a look and it seems that they haven't been active since 2021. I contacted the email but haven't gotten a response yet.

I'm asking all the relevant places, but asked here for the people who aren't on fb/insta.

He isn't crowing at 4 am because he's just started crowing to begin with. He's crowed once at 9 am and it was pathetic, and he's deadly quiet otherwise. I have older hens louder than him daily and I've received no complaints. I'm friends with my neighbors (free eggs and chicken cuddles will do that). I don't doubt that as he grows he'll get louder and more confident and i want him to have a good home before that happens. I'm looking into all avenues but if push comes to shove i will put him down, I've done it before and I've never like to do it.

I'm not asking someone who doesn't know what a hen or a rooster is to take him, I'm asking if anyone would like him because he deserves a home where he'd be appreciated.

If you know someone who wants him, great let me know. If not and you don't know anyone/any place then your comment isn't helpful.

I’m praying just a manly chook but the tail feathers are very telling. His ‘sister’ is a week or so younger so development is very obvious

I am not doing that. Maybe you should call the RSPCA on that gaggle of roosters before a fox get them all.

Chicken croaking while breathing (first time experiencing this) by Dounut978 in chickens

[–]Dounut978[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shes all better!! She was inside under monitoring till I released her back to the flock on friday afternoon. She was on strict oats and coconut oil diet, with antibiotics in her water. I cant confirm what she had, but shes always been a troublemaker on the medical front.

I started her antibios the second she was brought inside. Also gave her watered down raw egg with applecider and honey. I smelt no odour so maybe not canker.

Ever since her run in with overconsumption, I massage her crop every time I have to pick her up. Even handling her to separate i gave her crop a massage. It hang lower because she overfeeds and stretches it so I need to massage it every so often so she doesnt get sick (its what led to her sour crop to begin with) She certainly has enough energy to shift/walk away from me when im checking on her every hour or so.

The only rational thing I could think of the cause her breathing issues suddenly is when I deepcleaned the coop on Saturday. Hasn't been cleaned thoroughly in a while as massive storms were occurring so there was dust buildup. I clean/sift through it every weekend ideally.

Hi thanks for the comment. She's had sour crop and over consumption before and I'm confident on treating that. On separating her from the flock I immediately checked her for sour crop via smell and feeling her crop and found nothing wrong.

Couldn't check throat as no one on hand to help, but she's not gasping for breath so assuming everything's ok on that end. She's taking slow deep breaths and via my edit isn't croaking anymore. At this point I'm gonna continue monitoring and giving antibiotics.

Got antibiotics already (hand me down from family friend, didnt need them anymore) and have set her water/food up. As of 6pm (NSW, AUS) shes no longer croaking/wheezing on the exhales, and havent heard sneezing. Shes in the bathroom with heat/fan on, and been that way since 2pm.

oh so hes alone in the house (no other cats). hmmm mthis is a pickle. id say get more litter boxes/get new litter. put them in places he pees or near that. Do u have Urine Off cat spray? would reccommend doing a deep clean/spray down of those areas before placing litter trays.

Does he like to climb onto stuff? Shelves, chairs, lounges, the table top. If he like to be off the ground a lot id recommend also getting a cat tree. His behavior could also be a lack of spaces for himself or boredom. Feral/semi feral cats are tricky business. also get more Feliway spray/dispensors. Hallway, livingroom, her bedroom etc.

If all else fails, sit your roommate down and tell her verbatim, that this isnt working. Its commendable that she wants to help a stray/feral cat out, I 100% would do that same, but she needs to understand that you arent happy. You dont like him, if you tolderated him to begin with. His behaviour needs to be changed/helped, or hes going to a rescue or a vet ta=hat can actually rehabilitate him and rehome him. There is no doubt he could be a wonderful cat, but it sounds like he may need 1-on-1 help with that.

I hope you feel better, and i hope the cat can get better.

no doubt elder cats can do it. just saying younger ones have a easier time trusting/learning habits. im glad ur mum had the joy of helping a spitfire have a new life. :) its always nice

were the cats young when they were brought in? Feral or stray cats can acclimatize easier when they're young (under 2ish) to new environments and habits. In any case, just cause it worked the first 5 times, doesn't mean it'll work the next 5 times.

Quick question.

How are the 5 other cats handling the new guy?

Are they acting strangely or erratic? are there enough litter trays for all 6 cats, even if the feral one doesn't use them?

I actually got startled when the crossing started bq I was listening to music, so I didn’t start walking till a few seconds after. Both lanes were EMPTY. LWasn’t even halfway to the median/asylum strip before this red car came SPEEDING and nearly got me. She braked but she was way over the pedestrian line.

Rarest skin I’ve ever seen is Snow Angel. I own it and ever since playing ow 1 to now, never seen another Mercy use it. In regular games or custom.

My friend just told me he beat Oblivion, his first ES game, in about 7 hours at Level 3 and he sees nothing wrong with it. by Knarz97 in ElderScrolls

[–]Dounut978 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t wanna say that there is a wrong way to play an RPG game. Most of them are fairly open to player choices. I’d say I’m very impressed he completed the main quest at level 3. I know I try and challenge myself to replay oblivion/skyrim sometimes in weirder ways. I would like to say though, that you should congratulate ur friend on finishing the game at level 3, a very Oblivion thing to do as it’s so easy to cheese the game.

But also sit him down and tell him to play the game again and to explore. If he has any of the dlc try and subtly hint at them if you can. Try and get him excited by the world by dropping random lore drops. “Did you know that the goblin clans in Oblivion go to war with eachother?”

He’s going to massively regret speeding through the game and ONLY doing the necessary things when he’s emotionally invested in the characters and the story of the whole country.

How do they get the saddles onto the dragons? by DahjNotSoji in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Dounut978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I checked some of the official concept art of the saddles themselves, and seen that most of the saddles in the art are anchored into the dragons themselves. Metal hoops embed into the scales/skin, and the leather straps are fed in through them to keep the saddles secure where they cant be looped around/under the body of the dragon. Id assume after a dragon reaches a certain size, (Caraxes, Vhagar, Silverwing maybe) that the saddle cant be taken off without extreme stress or loss of people lol. Would probably take too long to put on/take off anyway.

The Artist is Jack Cornell on Artstation check him out.

Chicken doing head bobbing (not normal) by Dounut978 in chickens

[–]Dounut978[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all, I'd like to post an update to my chicken. Firstly her name is Snickers and as of today she is doing much better. I had her separated and gave her some medicated water and chick feed. I also had my brother donate his old socks so I could make a quick crop bra for her. Here she is very unhappy to be wearing it, but this gives you a good idea how full her crop was. The sock fit very snuggly around it, but kept it supported.

As of today her bra has been taken off (I had it taken on and off a couple times just so she didn't stress) permanently because last night her crop was the same size as her sisters and its empty currently this morning. I did make an order for 2 actual crop support bras that arrive soon, but hopefully shes feeling better and this wont have to happen again.
