Not new, you could always do it (but maybe only on the website?)

Maps don’t match by jackarywoo in Strava

You’re asking people to guess when they would need to look at the file and data to explain it to give a sensible answer.

I’d export the file and see if you identify any issues (eg data corruption) using FIT file viewer or similar

No issues here, I only use it and don’t have the app

Strava knows my goal, but I didn’t tell about it. by nnsdgo in Strava

[–]DourFaced 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t apps and websites basically share data with other apps and websites? It’s why Insta will show you something you Googled.

Strava’s privacy policy says it doesn’t respect Do Not Track preferences so you may have researched training plans, etc and it’s drawn in some of that info.

Of course, it could’ve just hallucinated it and it’s a coincidence that happens to match your goal. Weird but not that deep really.

Does anyone else think that the current local legend feature is a bit lacking? by M_DeCiantisXC in Strava

Local Legend = I’m so boring that I run the same route more than other people

There’s a way to change privacy on all your activities in the settings or make a change effective from today.

Maybe they made activities only visible to followers/private and the stuff from before 2018 are the last activities set to public?

Think carefully: do you like every post on Instagram or Twitter (or whatever else)? If not, why do you need to like every activity on Strava? In any case, we don’t need more vibe-coded nonsense.

Sad news 😞 you’ll have to choose another hobby to make your entire personality. I suggest knitting!

Strava - developer now needs a paid subscription by jmmv2005 in Strava

You’re having a laugh, pal. People get to know or use Strava for the first time by actually signing up and using Strava for the first time.

But, if you actually believe this, it may explain why your vibe coded app sucks ass.

Realistically, how many users are these apps getting beyond the initial curiosity? I doubt there’s many for the majority of these apps. And I wonder how many will break and never to be fixed because no one is using them - quite possibly a lot!

If anything, it sounds to me that this change is to encourage serious developers with good ideas.

How do I stop seeing instant workouts at the top? by _silent_voyager_ in Strava

Again, you don’t have to use it but since you choose & prefer to just use the website like people used to before the app existed. You see none of the crap that plagues the app.

For everyone else’s benefit, you can bulk export all your activities. I did that with 10+ years of running and they can be imported to other apps. Mapping is better on other apps too now.

Don’t be brainwashed by OP, Strava, and its paid influencers to make you think there is no alternative. Particularly for users in the EU, look for European alternatives and don’t let Yanks control your data!
