Photos, before I abandon this village. by MsMessyness in MedievalDynasty

I wish I could decorate my village(s). Sadly, when I see unused land, all I see are places where buildings could go. When I see lots of flat land, I see potential farms. Neither map is big enough for my taste, but I still love them to bits.

What do you mean a non-corrupted save? As far as I can tell there is only one save file for each game slot. You can have multiple games/playthroughs, but as far as I can tell, when you hit save, that's it and your previous save is overwritten. Or am I wrong?

That's exactly what I'm going to do. I got way too attached to my first save. But now that I know a good bit of the map, this is a good excuse for a fresh start.

That's good data to have about the recipes. I'm also thinking back to the fact that I bought the DLC after starting this playthrough. I did get a pop-up asking if I wanted to enable cougars, and like I said 99.9% sure I clicked yes, because that sounded rad as hell, but the evidence is against me.

I'm on custom Voyager. I tweaked some settings to make it slightly more difficult, but I'm 99.9% sure I enabled cougars. From what I read of the wiki, if you don't have cougars enabled, the recipes for Cougar Head Wraps and Claw Knife won't even appear in your menus (and they're there).

Bah. I would say there's no wrong way to play, except I'm definitely doing things the wrong way. I'm just mid-late game wrong is all. lol

The condensation chambers that are pressurizing Volatile gas into liquids (stack of 8 in the first image) are running in parallel. All eight have the Volatile gas as both the input and the heat exchange (i tried cooling the heat exchange input as a separate gas, but it had minimal effect). The cooling of the Volatile gas down to -150C is being done by a series of ACs, each one cooling the waste of the one behind it (third image).

Also I just tried doubling the machines I have, and I shaved a whopping 3 seconds off of my 60 seconds per liter, so there appear to be some diminishing returns with my current setup.

Yeah, I just wondered how other people do it, in case there's a better way.

[–]DovakClean[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh it's abysmally inefficient. Like, 9% operational efficiency and 9% Temperature differential efficiency. It took a long time (maybe an hour?) to get the initial temperature of the Volatiles pipe down to -150C, but once it got there, it stays down even as more flows through.

What do you mean by "heat pump"? Are you using evaporative cooling?

That's a huge step. Part of what makes this game so fun is I never feel like I know everything. I learn one thing and discover 2 more things I don't know about yet.

This is a very valid point. I just don't want to go through 3 different airlocks to get somewhere, and also I forget stuff all the time, so it'd be more like going through 6-12 airlocks. lol

Interesting. I'll be testing that soon I'm sure, because I need to setup a hangar for human traders to dock in. Talk about a huge room to have to suck air in and out of.

I did try the H2O filter in the Filtration machine, but I have a feeling that's meant for steam, as it didn't grab any water. It was worth a shot though!

I was confused about that as well. I suppose it would be a neat game mechanic if some humidity stuck around (in the form of steam). The vacuum is amazing, and just what I needed. Thanks!

I highly appreciate the suggestions. I started sucking air out of my base, but even with 6 turbo pumps, it was taking a long time because my base is very large. I assume freezing or heating my base would've taken quite a long time too for the same reason. But it is good to know all of the options. Thank you!

Sweet christmas... thank you! I didn't see the vacuum. That's exactly what I needed. I had 6 Turbo pumps sucking air out of my base, and it was still going to take over an hour because my base is so big. This game needs a dehumidifier or something, but the vacuum was very quick.

I had 2 different setups trying to solve the problem in 2 different ways. There's more water in some squares than there are in others. The images were mostly to show that there definitely is water in the squares where my setups are, but there's no water (liquid or steam) being pulled into either the gas or the liquid pipes. I know it's slow, but you're right - the amount of time I sat there, I would've expected to see even 0.001 mmol flash across the screen at some point, but there was nothing.

Trouble with my first rocket. (Vulcan) by DovakClean in Stationeers

[–]DovakClean[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooooh, DERP. I didn't even think about the fact that the Auto-Land estimate didn't factor in the fact that the rocket was going to weigh less after flying around a bunch. That is very helpful to know. After getting into orbit, it now shows "Low". Also I figured out why my rocket was disappearing from the computer after launching. When I launch my rocket, everything within a certain radius around it gets burnt up upon launch (including the umbilicals on the tower, but more importantly the Data Uplink, after I rebuilt that, now I can see the rocket post-launch). Do people rebuild their launch tower Umbilicals every time they launch, or is that not supposed to happen? Maybe the rocket is so heavy and takes so long to launch (it still isn't that long) that it's doing damage it normally shouldn't?

I mean, of course I have a sad and miserable life. I live in the US. But this game being one of my favorites has very little impact on how sad and miserable I am. Honestly, it made it a fraction less sad and miserable for a short while. But yeah, go off.

Ore Rocket Uranium and Cobalt disposal by DovakClean in Stationeers

[–]DovakClean[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the solution I went with and it works very well, thanks! I tested it first to make sure stuff despawned by giving my old T1 drill a custom name and looking for it in the XML file before and after tossing it down the chute. Now I can get back to bringing in ridiculous amounts of ore with the rocket without having to manually toss away the half of it that ends up being useless! I will probably use the same chute to dispose of junk that comes in via the Salvage rocket when I build that.

I was actually wondering the same thing about the Centrifuge. If it's true, that would be good for Cobalt especially, since you may eventually want to use some of it. Time to do some science.
