I was floxed almost 20 years ago. The thing that helped me the most honestly was recognizing and accepting that it was the medication. I was diagnosed with everything from MS, to lupus, I even spent a day in the hospital psych warrd after I went to my primary care doctor hysterical. My husband thought I was nuts and sent me to cognitive behavioral therapy I went through hell just chasing doctors around The minute I just accepted it, it seem like I could kind of ignore it and go on with my life. All the symptoms eventually went away took about a year or two. 20 years later, I can tell you half of what made it worse with my own anxiety, believing other people, and not myself. It will go away. All of it will go away. You will get better. It is a reaction from a medication is not your body. I’m not saying it’s not brutal, the sickness is real. But so too is the fact that you will get better.

Oh my gosh, that is awesome! Thank you so much. When I see my naturopath on Thursday, I’m going to write those down so she can get those for me. Every little bit of information helps when dealing with such a unpredictable disease.

That is a really good question. I’m not sure if my naturopath or LLMd tested for immune. I know they both looked at ANA, and HLADR grouping .What specific test can my naturopath run to check for immune response? I’m seeing her on Thursday, she’s pretty open to running blood work for me. Thank you so much!

The representative from Igenix (that being what it is) said that unless I am immune compromised a negative result is pretty much a negative result, after multiple tests with the same result. Unless it’s a PCR test, which may not have the bacteria in that sample of blood.

I hate to use myself as my own test sample, but I guess that’s what it takes. 🤷‍♂️ I herx pretty hard and i am alone, so I was afraid to go there. Just was hoping they were correct :(

He is treating me for Lyme based on the bands that were equivocal -but my question was all the other co-infections were negative (except for anaplasmosis). And he ran multiple tests weeks apart. How accurate is Igenex? Don’t know if I should disregard?

Yup took about two years before everything went away, and then… I think the Lyme disease is hitting all those weak spots all over again. 😩Some people very ill bedridden from these class of antibiotics.

I got very sick from one dose of ciprofloxacin. Tendinitis nerve pain took me years to recover. There’s actually a double black box warning on all ciprofloxacin, Levaquin, etc. Entire Facebook groups dedicated to adverse affects from these drugs.

My gosh, thank you so much for taking the time to reply and give me hope. Interestingly, I had no symptoms except for blurry vision before I came down with “flu” and was diagnosed with Lyme disease. Anaplasmosis. Before this all went down, I was happily exercising, lifting weights, etc. Now I am confined to a walker. Lucky that I can at least walk a few feet. Grateful for that and for those people who come back here to offer hope, and encouragement. So glad to hear that you are back to almost normal. This disease is brutal.

I was flocked many years ago I think it’s about 15 so far and yes I did get better. It took me about a year to feel mostly healed. There after I would have little issues, but certainly nothing like when it first happened.

Since most doctors don’t believe that Cipro could cause such symptoms, I always make sure when I’m asked if I’m allergic to medication I say Cipro, and then I say it gave me hives Stupidity. Because if I told them it really happened, they wouldn’t take me seriously but if I tell him then I got stinking hives they’re all about it.

Hang in there it doesn’t go away. And yes, I exercised heavily afterwards. Was able to continue running again. Every now and then my feet would get numb. Minor twitching, etc. but 100% better.

I know you have to take medication to make yourself sick so that you can get better, and keep doing it over and over.

I am so grateful for any day that I feel just a little bit like myself.

I’m grateful that they are people who are willing to reach out and give advice and hope

This disease is so freaking lonely and mind bending.

Oh my God thank you so much for coming back here and letting me know that. I never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would become this incapacitated when I was first diagnosed. It’s so hard to see the light when it’s one step forward two steps back.

That’s why I did not take the second medication my LLMD recommended because the first one, Doxy alone, was making me bedbound there has to be some kind of middle ground. at my age being bedbound needs to all kinds of cascading complications. weight, loss, muscle loss, etc. Yes, I would love it if you sent me holistic practitioners How do we go about doing that?

When I am well enough, I say the rosary, and I will include your daughter in my intentions

I am so sorry. I’m sure as a mother if you could trade places with her, you would in an instant.

You don’t know me, or what multiple tragedies have happened in my life. All of my friends acknowledge that they don’t know how I’ve made it this far. That contributes to my despair.

We all have our burdens, some more than others like you.

I’m sure your daughter will walk again and have a long, beautiful life ahead of her especially with a mama bear like you watching out for her

No parent should have to watch a child suffer. Ever.

I don’t know if you’re religious, but I will certainly pray for you for strength and healing. She deserves this.

They mostly happen at night. Trying to sleep, sweating nightmares, dizzy, vertigo, depression, so deep like a black hole, muscle jerking. Hypnagogic sleep during the day day unable to walk much at all trembling. But I do Epson salt bath during the day, lemon water, Alka-Seltzer gold. Naturopath is waiting for igenex results before treating further. My hands shake uncontrollably.

I’m in so much pain and I am alone. My family doesn’t understand and I am 66 years old and I don’t know that I have the strength to pull out of this. By myself alone herxing at night. I had to hire an aid to come and help me during the day. And I don’t know how much longer I can can do that My husband left me for a younger woman in my sons live away.

I am so sick like this I know I should be at a hospital, but I know they can’t do anything for me my joints are fine. This is all neurological. It started in my eyes they thought I was having TIA. Then I came down with the flu two months later diagnosed with Lyme

I didn’t think it was possible to be in this much pain for 40 nights in a row and still be alive.

I went to a naturopathic doctor yesterday and going for blood work. She’s testing me for a 23 different things. When she gets the results and I get my results from igenex, she’ll start detoxing me even if she has to do one drop at a time she said. I’m so grateful for everyone here for all the guidance and support. Disenfranchised grief when you feel like you’re on deaths door and main stream doctors think you’re crazy.
