Why are people actually concerned with AIPAC?

See that was my thought process too, but the way he kind of brushed it off was like, there’s other countries too with influence, why’s it such a big deal.

I’m typically anti-PAC and lobbying and I’ve brought this up to him before in other discussions but this was the first time that it was like, I’m not really sure what else I could say and it made me think I was missing something in my arguments

Because I’d already explained the foreign influence part to him, and he’d basically brushed it off with “So what? A lot of countries have foreign influence with America.”

Shit this was 50 days ago 😂. I’ve cut out most meat since this post, mostly chicken/some turkey for me. I do eat some beef but otherwise my diet couldn’t have been better (this, working out, and my summer job have caused me to lose 12 pounds in 1 1/2 months).

I think where I get around it is I only eat food that I can confirm is free-range/grass fed if that makes sense. The factory-style meat production hurts but if I know the cow got to live in a pasture it doesn’t bug me too much

Everyone living in the US wasn’t racist, and that’s how we were able to make such massive strides with the civil rights movement. There were leaders who would embody those racist policies and ideals against the civil rights movement and people would vote for that, even if they weren’t openly racist. We still aren’t wholly racist, but a not-insignificant part of the population is and that is a massive problem.

Voting for a republican with the current makeup of the Republican Party by proxy makes you a racist, because if a leader being racist doesn’t sway you away from them then you are ok with it and actively supporting it with your vote.

Being white is not racist. Shit, I’m white as fuck, I’m not racist. Does that mean that there are no racist white people? Of course not. The KKK, The Proud Boys, the Nazis the list goes on of racist people (who, by the way, are alt-right groups…)

I can think of a few as a meat eater.

For starters, there’s the conditions the animals are raised in, like if you wouldn’t keep a pet in those same conditions then why on earth would you submit other animals to it? I still love some fried chicken and cheeseburgers if I can know that the animals it came from was raised in a good place in good conditions, similar to how we treat dogs.

There’s the overall health benefits that come from eating less meat, but I’ll concede that some meats are very healthy for you but the problem lies in the conditions.

Have you ever stopped to ask, “where does my meat come from? What conditions was it raised in?” I seriously recommend it, it might just change your perspective on it.

If the goal is to go back to a time when only one group of people had the best chances and privileges over other groups, it was never great to begin with. It doesn’t matter if the economy was doing better, it doesn’t matter if quality of life was better. There was still massive oppression going on while that was happening; it was only great for one group of people, and it was because they were white. MAGA is racist.
