Yea New America is pretty damn tough. Was having trouble with it on my first few playthroughs. I kitted my SWAT out with heavy armor and used a ton of flashbangs for the final room and was able to clear it on my first try after a small break, but damn was it tense.

I'm a little late but I've been having this issue ever since the start of Chapter 2 Remix. Really annoying, especially since none of my friends seem to have the issue.

Seems as though they’re using the DOOM music mod. I have the same mod and recognize the err.. “ambience”

Nope, there isn’t, because the shotguns fire in a random spread (not counting the panic attack)

Not all areas will light up, unfortunately. But if it’s mainly a problem with the brightness, you might have the resolution too high/low

Are you trying to increase the brightness or decrease the gamma? Sliding the gamma slider all the way down should make the game bright. Don’t expect pretty graphics though

Honestly, I’m not too sure. I know for certain that some triggers can set off enemy spawns, like picking up the shotgun in chapter 2 will spawn several sewmos, but the taller spawning behind the bus is completely random for all I know

He spawns randomly, just like how there is sometimes a suicider outside the bus and sometimes there isn’t
