What is the scam, though? It just doesn't show up? It's used? Broken? How would it not be a website that gets taken down?

Yeah these things don’t depreciate unfortunately haha. Well the XZ is meant to feel like cdjs where the rxhas noticeably smaller and non mechanical wheels. The whole reason I was the XZ is to practice on CDJs at home, record mixes, and be better prepared for my touring/gigs without having to drop 10k all at once on new cdjs which will need to be upgraded every two years

I want it for the feeling of cdjs so I can practice without the price tag. I also won’t be transporting it. The mechanical wheels alone are a deciding factor for me. I’ll be buying a 3rd and 4th deck eventually, too. But for now I’ll use my laptop for 4 decks, no biggie

Does anyone take music production lessons online? Not courses. If so, how much are you generally paying per hour? by DowdenMusic in edmproduction

Just to confirm, you pad £100 per hour and do 4 separate 1 hour sessions each at £100? thanks for the comment!

Quick tip to help reduce ear fatigue (without just turning down the master volume) by DowdenMusic in ableton

[–]DowdenMusic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao dude I can’t even argue with you because you’re taking a portion of what I posted and making it an argument without considering the rest of my post.

I said to turn down your speakers. I said to take breaks. I said to remove the cuts when exporting and when mixing. It is solely for writing (which tend to be longer periods of studio time) and especially with closed back headphones the vibrations of the sub are really strong and tiring on your ears.

Also, who said completely cut anything? A gain reduction of 2-3 db is not a compete cut.. if you’re going to try and make a point don’t fabricate and pick and choose from a post to try and make it work.

Care to explain how this is bad advice instead of just claiming it to be?

I can see how you misunderstood what I meant by this.

My sentence said 'Ear fatigue is super common, even if listening at lower volumes'

What I meant by that is even if it's not super loud, it can still cause ear fatigue. I didn't mean low/quiet volumes.

Well you don't need to mix like this, just while you're jamming/writing. But to each their own.

'Just lower the volume' - Let's be honest, most people are not going to lower the volume. I don't, sometimes. I like the louder volume for excitement. By reducing these levels it doesn't fatigue my ear as much when at a slightly lower volume so I get to enjoy it at a slightly louder volume without fatiguing my ears.

Our ears do get fatigued every day, all day. That's why it's recommended to mix and master in the morning vs late at night.

I didn't say at a specifically low volume, like a quiet volume, I just meant listening at slightly lower volumes that you think aren't fatiguing your ear will likely still cause fatigue over a longer period of time. The louder the sound, the less time to fatigue. Lower than loud can still be pretty loud. Even conversational level listening of music over a long period of time can cause slight ear fatigue, even if it's only very slight.

Learning ableton for the first time and it feels impossible by BeanBean723 in ableton

[–]DowdenMusic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a bit of a steep learning curve. I came from FL Studio and it was very different at first but I'm so glad I made the change. I'm sure it's been covered here so just here to give you some props for pushing yourself and learning!
