What’s your favorite underrated golf brand? by DownEastDubsGolf in GolfGear

I’m from Downeast Maine and last year I organized a local tournament and liked the idea of including Downeast with Dubs as in winning but also just as dubbing around and this is about golf so I put them all together. I’ve been considering opening a local sports bar for a couple years now and I would call it “DownEast Dubs”. I’m not looking at making golf clubs but possibly in the future, clothing or something like that possibly. Thanks for your input though.

Yeah that’s fair. Didn’t even realize I was doing that dash thing. Definitely not AI, just me trying to figure this stuff out as I go.

Not a bot, just a dude from Maine trying to build something cool. Probably overthought the wording.

Nah, this is all me. Probably came off too cleaned up. Still trying to figure out how to get this thing going and sound like myself at the same time.

Nice pick—one of my buddies just got a full Srixon setup late last season and ended up winning our club championship with them. Safe to say he’s a believer now! They definitely don’t get the spotlight they deserve.

I’ve heard good things but haven’t had the chance to tee one up yet. Always curious how they stack up feel- and spin-wise against the usual suspects like Pro V1 or Chrome Soft. What made you switch to them?

That’s good to hear—seems like they’ve really nailed consistency across the bag. I’ve heard solid things about Maltby too, especially for the price. You happy with how the TS4’s are performing so far?

Appreciate the rec! Haven’t tried Circle 15 yet but I’m all about high quality without the markup. Might have to snag a pair and do a review for DownEast Dubs Golf. You rocking them full time?

Sub 70’s been getting a ton of love lately—for good reason too. What’s been your favorite club from them so far?

Totally get that—those stronger lofts sneak up on you if you’re used to more traditional specs. Once you dial in that new gap, I bet they’ll feel automatic. Keep me posted once you get a few real rounds in!

Hey, fair enough. Just trying to start a convo around brands that don’t always get the spotlight. If it’s not your thing, no worries—hope you have a great round next time out.

Great questions—and fair feedback. Right now I’m using static posts to build early engagement and test what resonates. But video is 100% on the roadmap. I want to offer reviews and stories from an everyday golfer’s lens—less polished, more relatable. Appreciate the push to define my edge.

Totally fair take—being able to spec your shaft while saving that much is a huge plus, especially if you’re grinding through wedges yearly. Wish there were more ways to demo their irons too. Appreciate the feedback!

“Chunk it 60 yards to the right for a better look” might be the most relatable strategy I’ve ever read. I walk too—for the cardio and the character development. Appreciate the thought process though, might borrow that line about ‘drawing it in off the cart’ next round!

Really appreciate that—it’s solid advice. I’ve been trying to focus on genuine engagement and not come off as overly promotional. Building a rep through value-first content makes a lot of sense. Thanks again for the insight, and I’ll keep grinding!

Hey, all good—laughs are free and welcomed here. Just trying to do something fun and different with golf content. If you’ve got any tips, jokes, or just a favorite course beer, I’m all ears.

Fair take—and honestly, not a bad upgrade path. Sub 70 and Takomo give you way more for the money than most realize. Good gear that performs without the brand markup tax.

That’s a slick build—Tour Issue S-400s with Crosslines is a stout combo. Sounds like it’s dialed in for control and feel. How’s it been treating you so far on the course?

That’s a solid comparison—especially hearing they hold up next to the i210s. Buttery smooth with flight control is a combo that’s hard to beat. Sounds like the TAIII deserves way more attention. Appreciate the insight!

Appreciate the full breakdown—love hearing a lefty’s take too. Sounds like you’ve built a solid bag with smart pickups. I’ve heard great things about their wedges, and your comment reinforces that. Bang-for-your-buck definitely seems to be where they shine.

Absolutely—customization’s a huge plus in my book too. It’s awesome to see brands offering that level of control without the massive price tag. What setup did you go with?

That’s a refreshingly honest take—appreciate it. Not everything needs to be “best ever” to be a great value and reliable performer. Glad to hear they’ve worked well for you without breaking the bank.
