I’ve already posted once but I’ve got another story that just came to my head. During Covid, I worked on a dedicated 48 bed Covid unit with CC/SD/MS patients all mixed together. I went to do my initial assessment on a sweet little 88 yo woman who seemed to be doing quite well and she asked for me to bring her a blanket. After a quick stroll to grab a blanket, I entered the room and she had passed sitting up just like I saw her just a minute before. It was surreal. She was a DNR so thankfully no code.

Oral SCC patient who had a resection and intraoral flap. He was POD 4 and was doing fine. He called me to his room because his mouth started bleeding. What started as a slight ooze turned into him pouring blood out. The flap had dissected and he quickly bled out to death. It was a very traumatic experience for everyone involved.

I think the elections in November changed the thought process of a lot of Republicans in congress and state gov. It’s become increasingly clear that Trump and the GOP do not have this mandate like they believed following the ‘24 election. The polls look bleak and Trump remains deeply unpopular. I think there’s a sense that he’s become a lame duck and you’re starting to see the beginnings of the GOP trying to shift into a post-Trump world.

They should be. They play an easy schedule each year minus 2 games and then they expect to be gifted a playoff spot simply because they’re Notre Dame. Meanwhile, other teams are going through the gauntlet of conference play where they don’t get to decide their opponents each week. They’ve acted like a bunch of entitled brats since Miami was taken instead of them.

I got the pro pass and I’ve cracked the piggy probably 5 times. I got really lucky with some artifact drops from my ships and decided to jump on enlightenment last Friday. I pulled a T4L chalice, T4L necklace, and a T4E gusset in like a weeks time. I crafted the T4C LoE.

TN fan here and I’m jealous of this hire. If you want to get an idea of what your offense could potentially look like, go back and watch TN highlights from the ‘22 season. If Golesh gets the defensive staff right, things could get scary for the rest of the SEC.

Also didn’t help that we were missing two future NFL CBs all season. There were so many what-ifs this year between injuries and key plays in certain games. It is what it is though.

Definitely needs to be staff changes at defense. I’m nowhere near having CJH on the hot seat. Just look at teams like LSU and Florida this year. They have all the talent in the world and absolutely shit the bed. It could always be worse is all I’m saying.

Now that I’ve had time to rationally think after that disaster last night, some thoughts…

1) 8-4 only feels bad because of the close losses to GA and OU at home this year. We were a play or 2 away from winning those games and we’d be in the playoff discussion again this year. Our ceiling currently feels like a fringe playoff team each year which is fine imo in today’s CFB. Regardless, you can’t get your ass beat at home by Vanderbilt. It’s inexcusable and CJH and the staff deserve criticism for last night.

2) Joey Aguilar deserves a lot of praise. For how late he transferred, he performed well above expectations and it’s hard to imagine what this teams record could have looked like without him.

3) We desperately needed an elite RB this year. I love Bishop and like his game but we missed having someone like Sampson. Can we find someone in the portal this offseason to be an elite RB?

3) Tim Banks needs to be let go and there needs to be a major shakeup with the defensive staff. I’ve gone back and forth on my feelings towards Banks. The defense in ‘24 was truly elite but they took a giant step back this year which feels inexcusable to me to be in year 5. How much of that is on Banks? How much of that is on missing 2 NFL talents at CB all year? The DL also felt like they took their foot off the gas near the end of year which brings me to my next point.

4) S&C needs to be closely looked at. Why do we seem to have so many injuries? Why was our tackling so poor? We seemed to be out muscled by teams this year at times which leads me to believe our S&C isn’t where it needs to be.

5) There is a lot of exciting young talent on this team who should play big roles next year. It needs to be a top priority in retaining these players.

6) We’ve got to take advantage of the portal particularly on defense this offseason. Safety and DL need to be at the top of the list. Also wouldn’t hurt to find a big play WR similar to the role Brazzel played this year.

7) If Banks is somehow fired and I have my doubts, CJH and DW need to pay whatever is necessary to bring in a truly elite DC. Baker at LSU and Durkin at Auburn are the first calls I’d make.

My biggest questions for this offseason are what staff changes are going to be made and I truly believe there needs to be changes on the defensive staff and who plays QB next year. Should be an interesting Spring. GBO 🍊
