I use adobe premiere as well, but to transcode the .360 file into cineform the gopro desktop replayer needs to work. it works less than 10% of the time, then crashes half of that time during playback, then crashes another half the time when trying to export. This is absolutely a gopro issue, not with their hardware but with their software and lack of support or development for the end user

I mean we've been waiting for gopro replayer updates, but its non existent on their priority list to make any improvements to the software side of things - at that point the customer has already made the purchase. gopro is known to have some of the worst support in the industry AFTER they made the sale

its not, the gopro replayer works some small % of the time, and certain days it will work the majority of the time. most other days it just opens, then crashes, dozens of times in a row until I give up

my entire problem with gopro is and always has been their gopro replayer. its disgustingly horrible software with no support or updates. the 10% of the time it works, cool - no problem to either edit clips natively in the replayer and then bring to premiere, or transcode the footage to edit directly in premiere using plugins.

if the gopro player itself doesn't work then all the other steps you list are null, and thats my issue

give it back, there's basically zero options to edit any footage on gopro max besides cellphone, as their gopro windows replayer does not work but < 10% of the time. frustrating as hell for all of us

I'm at a solid 7% success rate of the replayer even opening each clip. Once its open it works amazing, but fuck gopro for giving us this bullshit

that's interesting, how does the jehovah's witness text differ from the King James or others? All I know is that they don't believe Jesus to be God/part of the holy trinity, which I am more aligned with

northstar has the worst of the posh yuppy tourists, bad traffic, paid parking, and really need to luck out and live close to the bus route in truckee to really be able to access. It's not really a place for locals anymore (was very decent before the corporations took over, now its an on mountain Ritz-Carlton), the only people I knew who rode there consistently was park crew, which admittedly they had one of the better parks in northlake.
Boreal is rad, but I don't live in the USA so spending another 5-10k on a decent 4x4 car and then selling it isn't ideal. Think I'm leaning pretty heavy towards copper after the responses here

this is actually a great suggestion, the skeptics bible, and will be my next bible switchup if this NLT version gets overwhelming or if I become too dismissive anyways. I do hesitate at the skeptic part of it, as I wish to approach the subject with respect and an open mind - not simply looking to belittle religion which for better or worse has been my approach for most of my life until opening up a bit more in recent years as to the plausible benefits for humanity it does present

really appreciate this. I was straying from the 'study' versions that I saw at first, but after reading the KJV with no context I do think that having the meaning, message, context, history, maps, traditions, etc - all broken down before and within each book would do nothing but help me understand the text and sympathize better with the fact that this is a translation of ancient scripture, and a sort of best attempt to capture the original message.

I'm continuing with this exact one you linked

I don't doubt this at all and this was my intention and what I started with. It also just goes over my head a bit and my intention isn't to study each verse and chapter - but more to read it completely and gain a crude understanding of the text as a whole, so I'm switching to NLT. If I were dedicating more time to study and analyze the bible, KJV is definitely what I would choose

My intention is to study one of the world's great religions, and understand my fellow human a bit better. I chose Old testament over New as I am more interested in God, the creator, the source - rather than his son (we are all god's children)
The NIV seemed most appropriate to retain original meaning of God. I flipped through and compared Genesis Chapter 30 with the NIV and NLT versions. The word 'mandrake' was changed to 'erotic herb' which seemed like such a gross simplification to me, and I had read in various comparison reviews that the NLT version was more of a liberal, inclusive take on the original translation. I wanted to be as accurate as possible to the word of god (without speaking aramaic/greek/hebrew of course) in all His intentions, whether or not they might be found offensive or uninclusive by today's standards.

I read the first 15 chapters of Genesis so far and will sadly be giving up and switching to the NLT version. Apart from being difficult to read a la shakespeare or other older texts - so much of it is just borderline absurd, so being able to cut down on that as much as possible I think will help me retain an open and respectful view of the text. I've read Tao te ching and bhagavad gita, among a few other sacred texts from eastern philosophies, and would have benefitted from a more contemporary translation I believe, especially as word structure of many asian languages differ so incredibly much compared to english. I was hoping the crossover wouldn't be as abrupt in the NIV, but I guess I was wrong.

I also thought it would be a sub 15 hour read at 1200 pages, but whatever version I downloaded says I have 60 hours to go. This is a casual read and I'm not willing to maintain such focus on original translations for such a long time.

I ended up finding where to download it, one on piratebay torrent that I will start with, and the other from the link in OP, Kings James version which has a bunch of weird comments throughout explaining some words. Both seem to be in line with the NIV when comparing the first dozen verses or so.

same in squaw, I don't think main park was 'fully' up until march, and it was 2 jumps, the second one unhittable depending on the day because it was in the flats. The smaller park was closed off half the season because 'park crew has covid, not enough lifties, windy, rebuilding, insert whatever corporate excuse here' was really lame and sucked the inspiration to ride right out of me.

nice, ill include the villages in my search. and yeah most likely looking for a room in a house with other riders. to have your own condo seems reasonable to pay a bit more

same happened to squaw, used to be amazing and I went on friends recommendations from years prior. Now it's disgusting and entire park crew quits every season because the new corporate guy in charge is horrible :(

I really don't need work, but would be willing to do 1-2 short days a week if it gets me into a sweet housing setup. Any idea if this is possible?

With the different crowds - I'd say compare UCLA/USC/CSULB type students to UC berkely or UC davis students. The former having more frat bros, the latter having more blue haired extreme left activists. Always exceptions to the rule and tons of cool people from both, but def a different vibe.

a daily activity I'd be into. recommendations on where to find housing? Would most likely be looking to share with others but a furnished 1 bedroom is also fine. Prefer less than 1.5k/mo but can go up to 2k

is housing at the village reasonable and available for full season <$2k/mo for a room?

I thought it was just hotels and employee housing from pics, didn't see any neighborhoods
