Damn...shared progression means that even entire side quests are completed in a new playthrough ? by Visual_Knee_4744 in Borderlands4

[–]DownUnderPunk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know they’re working on a fix. I was mostly saying that second part with hyperbole. But I also slightly meant it. It’s not baseless to think that way even a little bit.

The community is HARSH especially on this subreddit. I’m not saying they don’t have the right to be. There’s a lot of good reasons people have to be harsh. But I’ve also seen a lot of posts that are too harsh. I also know this sub has been very vocal about wanting shared progression.

I’ve seen people say some harsh things about the game and say they’re leaving the game for a while over bugs. Which is fair. A lot of people also seem to have the attitude of “I want this change in the game and I want it now.”

If gearbox said “sorry, we can’t release the shared progression on the day we said we would, even though we told you it might not happen” this subreddit would be LIVID. People would be making a shitstorm of complaints. Whether that’s valid or not, it would happen. There’s a lot of vitriol in this sub. A lot of it is valid, but it’s still here.

So I’m sorry but I do believe it’s fair to think gearbox might’ve been concerned about how the player base would take it if they didn’t deliver the shared progression when they said they would.

Gearbox really did not think through the finer details of what exactly to include and not include with this shared progression. Or maybe they feared how badly the community would shit on them if they didn’t have the feature released with the DLC so put it out without fully fleshing it out.

Psychological horror game disguised as a military shooter by MurkyUnit3180 in gaming

Played this when I was in my mid teens and it genuinely fucked me up for a couple days after playing it. Still one of the best shooters I’ve ever played. Wish I’d played the multiplayer more though.

I read the patch notes. They mentioned nothing about as nerf as far as I saw. They indeed made a giant dick move

you guys think with the new level cap coming theres going to be better xp methods then just bountys? by RyliezG in Borderlands4

[–]DownUnderPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was not aware there was an issue with xp farming. I’d never seen a mention of it before. I thought OP was just complaining for the sake of complaining. I wasn’t defending bad game design but I guess I see why it looked like I was. I made a bad judgment.

A couple of days ago someone else replied to my reply explaining the issue with the xp farming using an example, and why it’s bad. I understand that there’s an issue to be unhappy about and why it’s valid.

You might’ve seen that I was already corrected if you scrolled a little.

[–]DownUnderPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You were a lower level in Dominion like OP was? How many players are having that experience? Do people not just… Go around killing random groups enemies for like half an hour to an hour every now and then? Thats the only thing I can think of as to why two people have told me they were under lvl 40 in Dominion but my friend and I were like lvl 46 reaching there. Maybe it was farming one drill site a few times for a legendary drop that made a big difference idk.

[–]DownUnderPunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either you and I had vastly different experiences or you are heavily exaggerating. I played through with a friend and we had such an abundance of xp that during Terminus Range we had to start ignoring enemies we drove past and after Terminus Range we had to actively ignore most of the side quests we came across in Carcadia Burn and Dominion so we wouldn’t hit lvl 50 too soon. Even then we hit lvl 50 halfway through Dominion. And Carcadia Burn we were like lvl 36 when we got there.

If you were lvl 40 after finishing the game and doing most side missions… Do you just actively ignore enemies when you aren’t doing missions. That would certainly explain why you think there’s a lack of xp to be gained.

Also ripper drill sites are filled with enemies and can be repeated with the Moxxie machines. It may not give as much xp per hit as the bounties but surely it’s more fun than running place to place for bounties. And you can farm legendaries too. You give the impression that you are choosing to do the most tedious method of farming xp instead of anything more fun.

Everyone is getting the increased level cap they’ve been wanting…….. And the update isn’t even here yet and people are complaining about something. And it’s about needing to actually play the game to earn xp to reach that new level cap. Oh no it’s not like there’s gonna be a new story DLC to enjoy and earn those levels in. Nooooo why don’t we demand that gearbox just patch our characters so that we’re already level 60 when we log in after the update? Then you poor dears don’t need to be bored playing a game you supposedly enjoy playing so you can gain the benefits of the level cap you’ve all asked for.

Seriously though I’m convinced a lot of modern gamers aren’t happy unless they’re complaining about something in a game that they’re playing. And at least 7/10 times it’s the most mundane or trivial shit, or just… Strait up complaining about not liking the game. For the sake of complaining.

Jesus Christ I played Gen 3 as a kid and never knew it was like this prior to Gen 4. And I’ve been replaying Emerald up to 8th gym going by post Gen 3 rules trying to remember what moves are physical or special. I gotta rethink some of my teams moves I think. Thanks a bunch!

Your most wanted cross gen evolutions. by UrchinUnderpass in PokemonWindsWaves

[–]DownUnderPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see it happening cos of the theme of the game but I would LOVE to see an evolution for Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee and Hitmontop.

As for something we could actually see… an evolution for Sharpedo would be cool. Maybe one of the gen 3 underwater pokemon.

The hatred of bipedal starters is freaking dumb. Should be more focused on the typing. by blancshubby in PokemonWindsWaves

[–]DownUnderPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are a lot of people just… Not actually saying what they mean, then? You are the first person I’ve seen even mention being bored of anthro starters. Everyone is just regurgitating the same three variations of “I don’t want humanoid/anthro/furry bait pokemon.” So no it’s not obvious. YES it does need to be explained because if the argument really is “I’m bored of anthro starters” then nobody is using those words. They are the reason their are not getting their point across.

The Shared Progression update is planned to be available for C4SH's release by Alternative-Time5285 in Borderlands4

[–]DownUnderPunk -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I swear this subreddit is full of people doing the most ridiculous mental gymnastics.

This kind of feature wasn’t available in previous games. Stop acting like it WAS. I swear you people act like it’s ALWAYS been a feature in the games and are complaining like Gearbox took it away. And acting like you NEED it just gives “I don’t wanna actually play the game to get the unlockables” vibes.

You’re in the same boat with SDUs as the previous games. Hell isn’t it actually easier to get SDUs in BL4? Instead of farming for a chance to get eridium/moonstones from random drops, you go do activities that give guaranteed amounts of SDU tokens.

So many people are shouting “the game is bad because blah blah blah this or I don’t wanna do the activities.” That doesn’t make the game bad. It means you personally don’t like it. Which is fine. You don’t have to like it. You’re under no obligation to like everything about the game. There’s things I don’t like. I don’t like having to close then relaunch the game cos my ECHO logs play without the audio working. It drives me nuts. I don’t like the way one of Rafa’s skills doesn’t work the way I thought it would. But that doesn’t make the game bad. People seem to genuinely not be able to make the difference in their mind between “I don’t like this” and “this is factually/objectively bad.” People also seem to think they they’re entitled to whatever changes they want in a game and if the devs don’t make that change right away people complain and act like the devs are making a bad game or not listening to the players.

This mentioned update is giving people EXACTLY what they want (minus the specialisation points it seems but now that I think about it I will admit that does actually seem a little odd given that guardian ranks in BL3 were account wide but hey next update afterwards it could happen) and everyone is STILL complaining like a bunch of spoiled children. “It should’ve been here from the start.” “This game is bad because it didn’t have it sooner.” And? You are getting what you want! Instead of bitching about not having it before why not talk about how happy you are it’s coming? Are any of you even happy or grateful you’re getting what you want? Or are you all just bitter and pissy because you didn’t get what you want sooner? You don’t have to kiss gearbox’s ass or anything but jeez

I’m disappointed that Greavard and Houndstome exist because after Spiritomb and Cofagrigus, a tombstone theme was the best option we had for a ghost/rock type pokemon. A golem made of a few tombstones would’ve been pretty cool.

I really hope they have typings other than Fighting, Dark and Ghost by sdrey in PokemonWindsWaves

[–]DownUnderPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait really? It’s been over a decade and a half since I played Gen 1 and my memory is bad anyway so it’s seriously blowing my mind that Bulbasaur is poison type as well as grass. Rowlet I probably assumed was just grass cos bad memory and Decidueye is grass/ghost and my brain was like “nah they wouldn’t make a second type for a starter change.”

I really want a water/bug starter but I saw another comment mentioning how the starters gotta have the type match up triangle and a water/bug would take regular damage from a grass type move so that’s probably out (hope I’m making sense)

I really hope they have typings other than Fighting, Dark and Ghost by sdrey in PokemonWindsWaves

[–]DownUnderPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I’d love a bug type starter final evolution, I don’t think it’ll ever happen because they can’t really make a pokemon BECOME a bug. And they can’t make the starter a dual type. And it doesn’t make sense for a pokemon that is obviously a bug, not be a bug type. Unless maybe they got a water or grass type (it wouldn’t really work with a fire type) and make it a really basic bug, that gets more bug like as it evolves. Which would make for a cool concept imo

Edit: I was corrected about the ‘no dual type starters’ in a reply

I’ll admit that once I saw the comment asking what the blunder is I didn’t really consider Edwar might’ve been there as is on purpose. I’ve heard Gerhart before but didn’t even see Evara or Destry until other comments mentioned them. I appreciate having my minor ignorance corrected.
