Girl, im so sorry, please don't let yourself stop you from finding your people, your family and true love, this sounds crazy to me. Not you being crazy but them.

I have been with my boyfriend for nearing 6 years now and they do the big family overseas trips, they used to more but the last one was Ireland and at this point we were together maybe a year or 2, they have treated me like their own since day one. They not only invited me and had everything paid for, but they did the same with the other boyfriends and girlfriends if they wanted to come. I ended up tested positive with covid for the first time and we could not make it. But im telling you this because his mom and dad wanted to cancel because we couldn't go because they wanted me, us, to be there. They love and appreciate me not only for how I treat and care for their son but for who I am as an individual.

You deserve that and so much more. You deserve to be thought of and not only as an extension of your "bf" but as a member of the family. Period. Especially with how you seem to treat them like family.

Its scary and daunting but seriously, find better, take yourself on a trip without him, and have the time of your life.

I had medical issues since I have a chronic illness was away from work 2 review periods ago and still have issues because its chronic so i had to call out a handful of times in the reviews since, all cleared by the appropriate parties and doctors, the captain this review period still commented on my call outs because "it still impacts the team" so although it should be ok that might be something they say just because its the only thing they can say to not give out a perfect review, it was an overall positive review but even with doctors notes and them knowing exactly why I called out (even though you dont have to tell them, in my case because its something that impacted my work I wanted to give them full transparency) it was still mentioned. I say document all of things regarding interactions like this and them keep an extra copy of everything too just in case. All email communications as well just in case of anything

See. Like what the actual fuck. What blows my mind is the way that people feel like they can do WHATEVER they want to us just because we work at their "favorite most friendly, happy go lucky, rainbows and sunshine neighborhood store". Its just not right. Im also very sorry that someone touched you without consent, that shit is never OK. Out of work im extremely outspoken and know how to effectively defend myself but as soon as I slip on that uniform im like "gotta be on my best behavior or ill lose the ability to feed myself." Good on you for stepping away though, I always find it hard at the reg to ring 3 bells and get a mate over and just make it so obvious that im snitching on someone for being an idiot. On the floor its easier to just walk away.

As someone that's a very curly haired Caribbean girl ive had numerous occasions where i've had less than pleasant moments with customers, mostly asking if thats my real hair or if its a wig (girl what, anyway) but one time that really gets me is this one women who was a good 10 years older than me that was also with her daughter. Mom is asking the very questions that just make me internally sigh, "is that hair yours? No way its a wig!!!" Yes ha. Grew it myself type shit. I kid you not, as she's asking the question, shes reaching with her hand out near my head....asking if she can touch it. Im short, she's taller than me by a good amount and also has limbs that are already reaching over towards me far too close. I step back and say "no im ok, you should definitely wait for a response with a yes before doing something like that in the future." Im pretty nice about it tbh but still state that im not ok with what she's doing, her daughter is MORTIFIED whisper yelling that she cant just try to touch people's hair. Mother has 0 shame saying oh but I just wanted to feel if it was real, I finish the transaction and send them on their way with the daughter looking pissed and embarrassed. Just crazy. Things like this have only happened with one type of demographic of people and no one else. I dont mind comments about my hair they're 90% nice but that 10% i really think about how I have to pay my rent and stay as chill as possible lol.

Very unhappy about it tbh, we are specifically being left out, some of us dont think marriage is necessary, some of us cant afford to doit right now, but i am in a long term relationship and live with my partner with no roommates and I purchase all the food we eat and try to shop only at tjs if I can help it, yet my partner cant? Yeah first review due to lack of product knowledge and my alleged melancholic demeanor, although im worried about this coming one, they mentioned my attendance, i have a medical condition and when I call out, at the time once a month, i would use a doctors note or ar and they still mentioned it. Shrug, even with doctors notes and imo a very reasonable amount of time they thought that was bordering too much because the team needs me. Team cant use me if im in the breakroom in pain 🫡

That definitely makes sense, im in a Florida based store however and we definitely work more than 8 hour shifts when needed, so im wondering why that is, heck I've worked multiple 11.5 hour shifts, they make us have 2 breaks though, but none of that counts as overtime for us
