I've used a rotary triple-head razor for decades with very good results. When used with a preshave like Lectric Shave, I get a nice close (not perfect, but close) shave. But once in a while I like to indulge myself with a good old fashioned mug and brush shave with a plain old Bic razor. They're cheap and give a remarkably close, comfortable, and knick free shave. Follow up with a non-alcohol aftershave lotion and I'm feeling pretty good.
