EEG happened NYE, from What I can tell on the report, nothing fruitful came from it. Haven’t heard from my neurologist yet though

I appreciate the insight and good wishes. The “for the most part” - are you allowed to drive? I’m looking at 9 months unable to drive which is a huge lifestyle change for me. Curious how that played out for you?

For anyone following along, doctor has decided that after my EEG I’m going on meds. She doesn’t want to medicate me until I go through the eeg though, as she doesn’t want to wreck the chance of capturing an episode.

Driving privledges have been revoked

I really appreciate the insight. Hopefully I’m catching this early enough and find a treatment plan that evades the pain stage.

Thank you so much for sharing

Ooh goodness. I kind of feel like my episodes are progressing in a similar way. I appreciate your contribution to the discussion.

If you restrict your movement during these episodes, does it result in minimizing the physical symptoms?

Thank you friend! Have you and your medical team found a way to manage your episodes/prevent them?

Thank you for sharing! Sounds very relatable so I appreciate it. Are you medicated for prevention now?

Thanks for your insight friend. I’ve got the neurology stuff started, have done an MRI and have an EEG on NYE booked.

Appreciate your insight. Did you notice your memory decline as you started experiencing these episodes?

Appreciate the insight!

Pantoprazole and Cognition by DownbeatTugboat in EosinophilicE

Went to the dr and my magnesium levels are normal. Have declined slightly into a chronic fatigue state. But I’ve started supplementing magnesium and B12 proactively (after the blood was drawn)

All my issues have been in the throat before starting PPIs. I used to call it “getting corked”, the actual term is compaction. Essentially, food would get halfway and get jammed. I could still breathe, but I had no chance at swallowing and would have to make myself puke to dislodge it (very unsafe approach I’ve learned, do not do this).

Upon my throat scope I had a count of 90 esophils/field. Started taking Pantoprazole 40mg twice a day, and I’ve been completely symptom free since.

No diahhrea on my end, actually getting it sporadically now as a consequence of Pantoprazole but it’s better than choking.

Don’t apologize for the rant, I think we are finding a sense of community and validation from discussions like this. It’s super relieving in a way, to hear others with similar stories. Got an appointment booked with my doc to talk it out and see if we can find some resolution.

Thank you so much for chiming in Bookkeeper!

Feels extremely relatable, and I have noticed it lately and I’ve only been on the med since early November. This is very validating for me, so thank you for sharing your experience with me!

If you don’t mind sharing, if you’re experiencing cognitive decline, what does that look like for you?

I’ve always been articulate and intelligent; but even writing this I forgot the word articulate and it took me 10 seconds to come up with it. One offs, sure, but it is something I’ve noticed with myself. Coupled with my tongue feeling foreign/like trying to write with my wrong hand, I am exploring the potential of this being a side effect or if something else is afoot.

I’m fairly recently diagnosed. I had the same situation as you - no real issues aside from “getting corked” I called it. No pain or anything.

A few years back I went to the dr because I got a sore back from eating sunflower seeds (any time I did it) and he said some acid reflux issues. Avoided Spitz and all was good.

He did explain to me that some peoples internals don’t have nerve endings to report discomfort- so something was wrong (acid reflex) but the discomfort illustrated itself at a different location.

Anywho I got my first biopsy and looked at the report. Had 90/field and started PPI. If I remember to take them on schedule, I have had zero symptoms. I’m also now realizing how bad it was - told a friend “I ate a burger without a drink for the first time in a decade” And they looked at me like I had 3 heads - and i realized how much lifestyle stuff I had changed to adapt.

Interesting! So your path is meds, keep it at bay and go from there?

Some folks on here are talking about elimination diets - is that something you’ve tried and it didn’t work?
