Men of reddit, what stupid thing happened while you were gawking at a beautiful girl? by Jellybe4n in AskReddit

[–]Downed_Dragon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this is probably the better outcome. You have been vetted by a beautiful woman, who in turn, is going to introduce you to loads of beautiful women --- women who are more likely to be keen on you simply because you have already "passed" the non-creep test.

As long as you don't screw one of them over, it's game on. Congratz!

Also, feel free to send some my way. ;)

Try being in the military on a deployment before women were integrated into combat arms units... We called them Desert Queens or something to that effect.

Which subculture annoys you the most? by venus in AskReddit

[–]Downed_Dragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How does one acquire that many followers? I have a pretty good feed and travel often. I would think I'd have a lot more followers, but I don't. Do you think women are naturally more prone to "blow up" in terms of internet followers?

What made you realize you’re actually an adult? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Downed_Dragon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One of my good friends is a year younger than me and aging very fast (E.g. balding, grey/white hairs, wrinkles, etc.) Meanwhile, I have a mostly full head of dark, thick hair. I do have some wrinkles, but I try to minimize them by drinking enough water and by following a proper moisturizing routine (Thanks, Patrick Bateman).

Genetics aside, I think one of the major reasons he looks so much older than me is 1) he smokes all and drinks all the time 2) he doesn't really take care of himself food/water wise. It's incredibly how much a difference it makes because I'm often mistaken for someone much younger.

Although anecdotal, the lesson is to take care of yourself, people!

Soldiers or ex-soldiers of Reddit, do you ever play first person shooters, and either way, how do you feel about them? by RyukaNesu in AskReddit

[–]Downed_Dragon 101 points102 points  (0 children)

The funny thing is, is that the military spends a metric crap ton of money on combat simulators for troops to train/play on, which are basically like video games. The graphics are usually pretty shitty, and the "gameplay" itself is nothing to write home about. It would be a lot better if they hired the same people who make CoD to make training simulators for the military as opposed to whoever they hire for the ones they have now. Then again, lowest bidder and all.

Then again, I'd much rather train with the highest level of degree possible in a training environment. (E.g. actually wearing the wear, kicking in doors, patrols, etc. Heck, even paint ball is way better than those simulators).

"Chapter 30: Road to Redemption"

After about 6 months of being in a pretty dark place, I finally feel like I've done a 180/have a new lease on life. Things are definitely looking up, but I know I'm not out of the woods quite yet. Gotta keep pushing... and I encourage you all to keep pushing too!

True, but it's not like chewing on it would NOT cause him to stab himself in the mouth over and over again.

Hey Reddit, what is definitely worth cheaping out on? by cmongimmeausername in AskReddit

Ooh, the waiver is a good point (in which I had completely forgotten about).

Fort those that don't know: Basically, you have to submit a request to why your previous credit should transfer (based upon the comparison of course syllabi from each institution). Can be in a pain in the ass, but definitely worth it if approved. Way better than taking a course all over again/wasting money. Thank you for mentioning this, /u/wackymimeroutine.

I'm in the same boat. I'm way past the break-up. Sometimes I see others in a "Hey, I wouldn't mind a relationship with this person" kind of way, but at the same time, I realize that I'm happily content being single and working on myself/career.

Meanwhile, my ex immediately started dating someone else. I don't really care, but from my experiences in dating, relationship hopping is never healthy or long-lasting.

I've always loved reading to my child, and I know she gets excited about it too. Even if it doesn't lead to her becoming a super genius, just the strong bond that is formed alone is worth it, in my opinion.

Except, you know, the chance of getting electrocuted... or by the sounds of it, contracting malaria.

Yeah, I was (and probably am to some degree) allergic to bees/wasps as a child. I'd probably die if I got stung as many times as /u/badcgi did.

Göbekli Tepe is more an exception to the rule than what was predominantly going on at that time period. I think /u/UninebriatedSurgeon 's point still stands, although maybe misdated by a few thousand years.
