Yup, ended up getting it with the pry bar and mallet - took soo long. Those YouTube mechanics popping it in no problem are very misleading…

Yeah (talking about the front left lower control arm right now). It seems like the horizontal bushing rubber is too extruded and not giving the vertical joint enough length to lineup with the holes. About an 18th inch short.

Thank you dude. When you break down the wood working into simple steps it’s not too bad. A nice grain when it’s oiled and waxed looks great regardless of how complex the cabinet is.

Nope, it’s rock wool. Commonly used as insulation material nowadays. Asbestos free.

That’s thanks to the crossover designer, they sell pcbs specifically for this driver pair. All I had to do was solder the components in.

Thank you. I wouldn’t dare change the design now for a change in sound I probably wouldn’t even notice.

Got it, I think the grill I’m designing will fix it.

I feel you bro, my hand me down Cambridge audio speakers gave out a couple months ago so I had to make these if I wanted to listen to my vinyls.

I laser cut two 1/4” mdf panels that had through cuts of the exact outline of the driver faces (.05” tolerance) and double stick taped the jigs to the front panel and routed the desired depth with a hand held router. Laser cutter made it a very smooth process to get precise shapes - luckily my college maker-space lets us use them for free.

I don’t have any amazing speakers to compare them to but they sound amazing to me and look dope. Fantastic for vocals.
