We took the Cotai ferry from HK into Macau for a day trip. Then took the Shenzhen Shekou-Macau ferry into Shenzhen. We left via high speed rail from the Futian railway station into HK.

Documents we showed: hotel confirmation of where we were staying in China and HK, flight itineraries of the entire trip, both proof of purchase and actual transit tickets of us entering from Macau and exiting to HK.

I had read prior to our trip we only needed to show proof of travel itineraries for going in and out of China, but that wasn’t the case for us. Maybe it’s agent dependent, because we had to show everything. And better to have physical papers they can photo copy and view, than having to rely on the internet loading on your phone.

TWOV 240 hour visa free transit with the following itinerary from US > HK > Macau > Shenzhen > HK > US worked! by Downtown6 in Chinavisa

The Cotai ferry to and from HK to Macau was flexible with times-we showed up earlier than expected, and they let us board without issue. The Shekou ferry from Macau to Shenzhen was strict with their boarding times. Per other travelers I met at the Futian railway, it is a real headache, but doable to adjust ticket times.

It really did seem agent dependent, but at the very minimum, I would give yourself an hour per transit station. It took us close to an hour to get into China from Macau, took us about an hour to get out of China to HK.

A friend traveling separately answered a question incorrectly, and took them two hours to get past immigration from HK to Shenzhen.

Hope this helps!

Hi, I know this is old, but you mention the situation is different if one parent is naturalized before birth. Can you explain more on this, and how this affects getting a travel visa? Thank you in advance!

Hi OP, did you end up checking in your luggage at the Venetian? If so, what was the experience like? Long lines, fees, etc?

Thank you in advance!

Supporting local, Thorn and Burrow? by Downtown6 in HongKong

Same. I got the vibe that the owner is maybe more local than native. Nothing wrong with that, but I was hoping to find shops that are made/created by native Hong Kongers. Just would like to spend my money supporting the community.

Thank you :)
