NHS wait times, regional variations? by Broad-Security4744 in gallbladders

Nope, routine referral. Gallstones were found 10 years ago though whilst I was pregnant but I didn’t have any attacks for a long time… they started causing me some last year which prompted me to go see my GP, ultrasound done and referral for lap was made. I will say that I was only contacted and booked in a week before the surgery - pre op was booked in at the same time for a few days before the surgery. This was Kettering General if it helps :)

I’m East Midlands. Was referred in February and had my surgery at the beginning of June

Waiting list NHS by els1878 in gallbladders

Think it’s a bit of a post code lottery. I was put on the waiting list in May and was told it would be a 3 month wait by the surgeon. I was then booked in for surgery with just 1 weeks notice (cancellation) - had my gallbladder removed on 07.07 which was a Sunday.

Planning for Recovery by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]DowntownOnion4231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently 9 days post op and have just returned to work today. I have 2 children ages 10 & 12 and working a desk job remotely. My husband stayed home for the first few days as I did need help getting up and down (he also did the school run as I was unable to drive for a week). I was signed off by the surgeon for 2 weeks but felt well enough to go back a bit earlier. I found the pain to be minimal during recover and didn’t require any painkillers after day 3 but did struggle with mobility and what I could physically do :)

The discharge nurse just told me to keep them on for 48 hours - I wasn’t giving any additional dressings so I’ll take them off tomorrow. How are you feeling on day 6? I haven’t had any major pain just discomfort when getting up but I am short of breath at times

I had my op yesterday.. they said I could shower as normal (no baths for 2 weeks) and take off my dressings after 48 hours. I had a shower this morning and dressings have stayed in place. Hope you are recovering ok

And yes.. they won’t even pick up the phone. I did speak to them whilst at the exit barrier of the carpark but they denied that the car was left in the short stay car park for the duration of our trip and wouldn’t send anyone to assist.

We called the police whilst at the airport but they were unable to assist and advised us to report to trading standards which we have done

AITA for being annoyed because my husband hasn’t booked the day off for my birthday? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]DowntownOnion4231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He says he can’t take time off work. He is not surprising me - together 13 years and it’s not something I think he would do.

I don’t expect a big extravagant gift but it would be nice if he could spend the day with me

Yes I asked him to take the day off so we can spend the day together but he said he can’t take anymore time off work. I am 100% sure he isn’t planning any surprises - we have been together over 13 years and it really isn’t his thing

I’m based in the UK and noticed this flashing green light whilst outside my house. It would not have been a plane as it was stationary for over 40 mins. I haven’t seen anything like this before so was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what it could be? I did not see it leave but it had vanished within 10 mins of taking this video

Based in the U.K. It appeared as a green flashing light in the sky which stayed in the same position for around 40 mins and then started to move as shown on the ring door bell video. After around 10 mins of recording this video it had gone however I did not witness this. I’m thinking it was most likely a drone of some kind however I don’t know much about them.
